“Places to Eat”
Reviewed January 22, 2014

We dined here for my birthday at the end of December and were impressed by both the food and the ambience, Quality ingredients prepared by chefs, not cooks! Although marketing itself as an Italian restaurant, I would say that the food was more Italian influenced than true Italian cookery and there is definitely a hint of the English influence of its proprietor. The restaurant caters for all ages and welcomes smaller persons as well as wrinklies like us so we're certain to return next time we return to Lagos (I have a small property in the area).

“Great Italian”
Reviewed January 18, 2014

We have been to Portofino's 3 times in the last 3 weeks & on each occasion the staff have ben very helpful & the food has been great. The fish cake with a soft poached egg on top is already a favourite starter & frankly you are spoiled for choice on main courses with everything from Pizza & Pasta through to steaks on the menu The Chicken Milanese being my current favourite. Desserts are good to although I would like to see different Gelato on the menu. At the present time there is a choice of vanilla or vanilla!! the Italians are famed for ice cream & there are so many flavours out there.
All in all a great addition to the Marina scene in Lagos & its becoming a firm favourite with us.
If you want to go for dinner especially at weekends do book. Each time we have booked for 8pm the restaurant has been full with people not having booked waiting for tables. In many ways a good thing as few restaurants in Lagos are so busy & lively at this time of the year.

“Yummy”
Reviewed January 15, 2014

This restaurant is fantastic value for money and has such warm from the moment you walk through the door. We were greeted with a smile and seated promptly, and had our drinks all within minutes of arrival. The starters arrived quickly and were piping hot and full of texture and flavour, and were followed soon after with our main courses. I had a tasty pizza which was cooked to perfection on a thin base the traditional italian way, and my partner had a fantastic chicken dish which was very fairly priced, whilst our children happily tucked into mini pizzas and fish and chips.
I simply cannot fault the food or the service, and we chatted away to the staff throughout the course of the meal who were attentive and at ease.
A very good restaurant in all respects, we will look forward to returning over the Easter holidays.

“Excellent!”
Reviewed January 15, 2014 via mobile

Visited whilst on holiday with friends, the food was great value as we visited in Happy Hour, good portion size, tasty and well presented.

The staff were really friendly making us feel welcome and recommending bars for us to visit later in the evening.

Would definitely advise a visit, a great find.
