Just come back from a boat trip in Lagos Portugal. Although there are many companies. Offering trips we went with a company called Discover.pt. what an amazing day we had with them. The boats are excellent condition. The crew were without doubt the friendliest by far. Nothing was to much trouble. We went for the boat that holds about 50 people and sails along the beautiful coast line. And drops anchor then you all get into glass bottom canoes. And a guide takes you into all the caves and coves. Absoulutly fantastic. You can swim. Dive off the boat play on there floating pontoon Clim back on board. And recieve a refreshing cold drink while the captain sails down the coast. ( breathtaking) before returning to the marina. If your planning to do a boat trip look out for this company you will not be disappointed.

We were 15 minutes late for the boat trip (+kayak) and the staff made a miracle for us. We first boarded on a speed boat to catch up the rest of the tour and then started kayak. It was a great and worthy experience.

It is 6 years since I last visited Lagos and it didn't disappoint. The only disappointing thing was the amount of beggars on the streets. To be fair, most of them were old people, but there was a group of tattooed young ment with shaved heads that were very threatening if you didn't put some money their tin. There was group of 3 or 4 of them with an old dog and they would walk right up to your face, rattle the tin and say they wanted money for the dog. Very scary, would not have liked to walk past them without my husband.

That said, the Portugese are the most friendly in the world and they treated us like long lost friends. The food we had in the restaurants was mostly good, O Artista and the Oasis, were visited several times as we found these to be excellent. We went on a speedboat to see the dolphins, which was a truly memorable experience.

On the whole, we found the prices of food and drink as well as the boat trips had dropped dramatically since we were last there and the holiday was very cheap.

The Hotel Marina Rio is to be recommended, really excellent hotel

Lovely friendly staff. Given a free beer on boarding. Went on trip down the coast then anchored in a bay and put a trampoline at the back of the boat and kayaks. We went on a speedboat round the caves which was brilliant

My friends and I went for the kayaking tour through the lagos coast. It was a very cloudy and cold day, yet even though the staff were on leave, some of them were called back just to organise this very special 'private' kayak trip for us! We were really touched! We had a vip ride on the small boat to the caves instead of the traditional boat. Plus the instructor was really friendly and helpful! The clear-bottom kayaks were really cool, and together with the friendly staff, we felt really welcomed on this trip. If you have to join one kayaking trip, choose Discover!
