Hi this is an excellent hotel very clean staff very helpful well situated but the only problem which i see is shared by many reports on hotels on the algarve is the very very hard beds-I guess the locals are a lot tougher than us effete tourists. You can try to sleep on top of the duvets which is a little better but I guess I am just getting too old.A short break so we could survive and as I do not see any one else commenting about this hotels beds it must be me-otherwise a great spot

We stayed at 1 bedroom apartment which had a pool and a Marina view. Excellant rooms, big room. Comfortable bed, large kitchen, clean bath...
Staff at the reception/ bar/ pool every where is very helpful
Spa is nice and not so expensive
We had just bar snacks at restaurants which were okay. Strange but they dont serve pizza except room service which would have been handy with kids.
Pool was big and clean but a little cold. Looking at the Algrave weather ..(winds) they should do something to set a better temperature for the pool.
Annoying thing was that all brits occupy the pool sun beds early in the morning and i could see the towels lying and relaxing for all day long with no signs or sight of the actual occupant. HOTEL MUST LOOK INTO THIS STRICKTLY !!!
Town center/ restaurants/ excursion trip bookings/ super markets .. all places are a short walk
Main Beach is 10-15 minutes walk..
Would love to go back !

My husband and I have just returned from the Marina Club apts. We booked a studio room but unfortunately it overlooked the car park and road with traffic. We requested a pool view and having waited a couple of hours for the room to be ready for us - we had lovely lunch in the old town while we waited - we were thrilled with our room. Very spacious with a wonderful view. We use the balcony a lot on holiday and were more than happy the pay the 154 Euro extra for the upgrade - worth every penny.

The Marina Club is situated right on the marina (quite windy) and just a 20 minute walk to the old town where there is a good selection of restaurants. I would recommend the Italian Restaurant Vaneza and also the one next door to it Henrique. We were self catering and didn't try the restaurant in the Marina Club as it was always empty, so can't comment on the food.

The trip to the grotto was excellent and a bus ride to Alvor is recommended.

Room Tip: Request pool view and you will not be disappointed.

I stayed here with my boyfriend in September 2012 and we are hoping to go again this year. I absolutely loved the hotel, for us as a couple in our mid-20's it was perfect. Its just the right distance from town, you can walk it in 10-15 mins, and the marina is lovely. There is a big supermarket just down the road for supplies. We stayed in a Studio apartment which was ideal for us as we ate breakfast/lunch there and went out in the evenings for dinner. The apartments are modern and clean which we really liked. Can't wait to go back!

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday at this hotel and we loved the place. It doesn't have an impressive entrance or reception really for a 4* hotel but the apartments are great - very spacious, well equiped and spotlessly clean. We had a pool view on the top floor and it was ideal - 2 massive sofas, a large television with plenty channels and very comfortable beds.

The hotel is in a lovely position on the marina although this is the windy side of the river but it's relatively sheltered by the pool and there are plenty of sun beds and parasols. The beach isn't far (about a 10 minute stroll) and it's the sun beds are reasonable at 10 euros for the day.

There is large supermarket is a couple of hundred yards from the hotel where you can get everything you need for self catering or there are at least a dozen bars and cafes (1 proper restaurant) on the marina to choose from for breakfast, lunch or evening meal. However, if you want to spoil yourself it's better to go over the footbridge and into the town for wider selection of restaurants. The town of Lagos has real character with it's main plaza and lovely winding and cobbled streets - your eyes are never bored and there are lots of street entertainers to keep you amused.

There is a selection of boat trips to choose from to the grottos and dolphin watching, etc. We chose Bom Dia, the big sailing boat and weren't disappointed. We also hired a car from Luzcar in the town and the prices were good and no fuss. The train station is also very handy, just behind the marina and ticket prices are good.

All in all a great place to stay for comfort, location and value for money.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool or marina view if you like to spend time on the balcony as the land view rooms overlo...

Stayed here for four nights in June 2013, in a standard studio with land view. Couldn't really justify the added expense of a pool view, given we weren't going to be spending much time in the room.
The room was quite large, clean and modern, with a very handy kitchenette, small dining table, and twin beds (apparently all rooms are twin beds). The kitchenette comprised a large fridge, microwave/grill combo, hotplates, sink, utensils/cutlery, pots/pans, and a moka (stove-top)coffee maker. The ensuite had a shower-over-bath with quality gel/shampoo products. The aircon was effective, and the room had excellent double-glazing which eliminated most noise. The bed was firm but reasonably comfortable, however the pillow was very flat and unsupportive.
The complex is large, situated within the marina, and a short stroll into town. There is also a supermarket within a 5 min walk away.
The pool area was well kept, and the pool was big, however the water was absolutely freezing! One isue with the deck-chairs around the pool was the annoying and selfish habit of patrons leaving towels/gear on the chairs through-out the day, despite them not using the chairs, in order to "reserve" the chairs - a practice the hotel should discourage I feel.
There was free parking provided across the road, and free WIFI, however the WIFI was unreliable and I found it to drop-out regulary.
Only a couple of negatives points - the tea/coffee supplies weren't replenished throughout the stay, and I found it weird that they provide a kitchenette, but no way of cleaning up or doing the dishes (they expect you to provide your own washing liquid and sponge!). We didn't eat at the hotel, so can't comment on that side.
Over-all, this place is fine. Wouldn't say its fantastic value given the room was 119 euro a night with a land view, and Portugal is not an expensive country, but still its worth a look.
