lovely hotel, rooms excellent, staff friendly, and amazing breakfasts. the views from the front of the hotel are very good overlooking the marina, there also is the coach station about 50 meters from the rear of hotel,coaches go to all destinations in portugal, and also spain.

Excellent bed and breakfast 4* hotel located in prime position overlooking marina. Well appointed room with tea making facilities and a good size en--suite room with walk in shower. Excellent breakfast choice and well stocked bar. There is a large sun terrace on the roof. Separate to this is an area with a small but heated swimming pool. All the staff were ultra friendly and helpful making it a very pleasant 4 night stay. Car parking was available adjacent to the hotel at 1 euro per day.

GREAT HOTEL. 1) Staff & cleaners very good. 2) excellent breakfast hot food changes daily between bacon/sausages, scrambled/pouched/poached/boiled and fried eggs, good selection of cereals - fresh fruits - cold meats and cheese - breads and cakes - juices - hot drinks. 3) Good access for disabled people (ramp with powered seat - lift - large walk in shower. 4) sea view rooms have wonderful view of the marina and sea access. 5) close to town centre/shops/restaurants etc. 6) lovely small swimming pool on the roof (26c in April) with large trellises and quality sun beds.
THE ONLY NEGATIVE IS THE T.V FOR ENGLISH VISITERS ONLY BBC WORLD - SKY NEWS & PICK VERY POOR PICTURE UNLIKE CHANNELS FOR FRENCH - PORTUGUSE - GERMAN ETC. As my partner is disabled we don't go out every night and soon got fed up with news and old pick programmes with very poor reception.
We would love lo go back again but won't unless they upgrade the TV and get better pictures and more channels as you see in bars etc.

in first place we would like to thank you for your quite extensive review describing our facilities.
Regarding your comments about our TV programs we can explain the following: we were depending on SAT-TV and had to offer to most of our visiting nationalities an adequate part of the existing channels. And also we were depending on those channels they were not scrambled. This will change in the near future because finally we will have the glass fibre available in our road which gives us the opportunity to change our TV system. We do hope this will happen very soon, so if you intend to come back, please contact us before, so we are able to inform you about this.

We were glad that we selected this location because driving and parking in the historic town is very difficult. It is not to far to walk there from the hotel. We had a nice balcony with a view over the Marina. Miguel was very helpful and gave us great recommendations to eat seafood where even the locals will go. The breakfast at the hotel was great and we had convenient parking in the lot right next to the hotel.

We are just back from our second stay at the Marina Rio and it was every bit as good as our first visit back in 2014. In fact when taking into account the lovely new bathrooms it’s even better. Half the rooms have bath with shower over and the others have large spacious walk-in showers – no doors to bother with just a big glass screen. We had a Marina view room again but we may consider a room on the back next time as they get the afternoon sun.
The breakfast is really nice with a great choice of fruits, yoghurts (fruit and plain) cereals and lots of freshly baked bread and rolls. There are meats and cheeses and hot choices –eggs bacon etc. The ladies work very hard constantly replenishing the buffet with fresh food. Breakfast is served from 07.30 to 10.00am and we were very impressed to be given breakfast at 06.30 when we had an early flight back - we still had a choice of breads, fruit, yoghurt cereals etc. and by the way the croissants are excellent!
The staff at Marina Rio are one of its great assets always smiling, friendly and helpful, the place is spotlessly clean and the position with regard to restaurants etc. is perfect. Enjoy it we did, again!
