“One of my favourite restaurants”
Reviewed February 16, 2014 via mobile

One of my favourite restaurants, only wish i could go every day!!!!
Superb fish, especially seared tuna,or tuna with sweet onions and ginger, amazing salt cod baked with cream, not your normal salty salt cod, wonderful soufflé like deliciousness, octopus salad, and broad beans cooked with ciorizo and black pudding, that we order every time( i don't normally even like broad beans, black pudding or octopus!!! )the best wines, the very learned sommelier owner Pedro always recommends a corker! I love the ox tongue,( normally hate ox tongue) it seems, whatever they cook here i love!!!!!!!!
Don't miss the prawn curry, the stuffed squid, and lemon mouse coconut cake or anything for that matter!!! I love it all, can't wait to go back!! You may find it hard to find,so get a taxi its not to be missed!! Love chicca bjsxx

“Best local food”
Reviewed January 20, 2014

Lived and eaten out every week, in Lagos for five years. This place out of the way is the best food around. Unusual winter rich winter dishes and a fantastic range of wine.

Ox tail in red wine and pork cheeks probably the highlight, but all dishes are very good.

Mine host can sort your wine given your basic preference.

We had a selection of dishes between us, sweets, coffees and spirits plus plenty of wine. Still just 30 euros a head.

“Simple the Best”
Reviewed December 16, 2013

If you are around and want to taste the trully portuguese food, just try Comidinha.
Set in a residential area, not very attractive, Comidinha is an experience you will want to repeat.
I've been impressed the first time and when back never left disapointed.
Just trust Sr. Pedro, the owner, and forget the list. Check what he recomends one after the other (good for a group of people) and you will be impressed by the fine cooking and the flavors.
I sugest the same with the wine tasting. Tell him about your budget and accept his recommendations from the Algarve region to the Douro from the North.
In the end it is not a cheap place to eat, but it is a trully and well worth gourmet experience of some of the traditional foods of the Algarve.
Children are welcome.
The only negative goes to the smoking being allowed, which may be a bit unpleasant, if you are unlucky to have some neighbour smoking table.

“Favourite Restaurant in the World”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

If you are a fan of Portuguese Cuisine, then this place is a Must !!!!
Always return when I'm in the Country, although would be a nightmare to find.

It's all about the quality of food and Wine, so if your concerned with presentation, this place is not for you. However if you like Rustic and quality and great Wine, then please go.

Cod in Cream, Rabbit in Wine, Oxtail stew, Mussels in wine and that was just on my last sitting.

Just a tip - Go hungry !!!

“Fifteen years of algarve food - this is easily the best”
Reviewed October 11, 2013 via mobile

Our Portuguese lawyer recommended it. We've been 4 times now and the food has been amazing every time. It's also a good idea to get Pedro (who looks the image of Lord Winston, moustache and all) to suggest wines. Special dishes are cod soufflé, seared tuna and oxtail stew. Very authentic and excellent value. Tricky to find!
