This hotel & spa, sits comfortably within its 5* status, It still requires a little tailoring but this won't ruin the overall experience of your stay, we really loved our stay.

ON ARRIVAL... you are greeted & taken to your room, with an invite to the bar for a complimentary refreshment once you are settled.
THE ROOMS… are as beautiful as depicted in the brochure and I just loved the pillow menu, You can have a different one every night if you wish....
THE HOTEL & POOL... has a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of sunbeds & parasols. There is another pool & sauna area in the Spa which is even more quiet & relaxing.
BREAKFAST... is to die for!!!
THE BAR... is reasonably priced, with two restaurants offering either your more moderate priced Mediterranean cuisine or slightly more expensive eclectic dining.
THE SPA.. is a little on the expensive side however, they do have special offers on some treatments.
THE STAFF.. are lovely, a little slow on the service but not all that bad, I appreciated that they all smiled & engaged with the guests rather than be too straight faced & formal like in so many 5*.
TAXI.. The hotel do not have a complimentary shuttle, but will pay for a taxi into town which is a 30min walk.
SHUTTLE.. It's important to note that the shuttle from the Airport is shared with other hotels and we actually found trying to find where the shuttle went from & the extra-long journey to the hotel quite stressful.

HINT: The stand for the Shuttle is a tiny stand right in front of you as you exit customs, this does not have the name of the hotel on so just ask.

After much searching through Trip Advisor, and wanting to visit another part of the Algarve we finally settled on this resort. It seemed to offer all we wanted with flexible accommodation styles, nice restaurants on site, a well equipped gym, large on site spa and a low rise hotel, which we felt would be excellent for a weeks break in the sun.
The hotel came well recommended and it did not disappoint.
The staff were excellent, our guest apartment beautifully appointed and with a fully fitted kitchen, including washing machine, if you really felt the need, it was everything you could need. The pool area was very pretty with gardens and lawns surrounding a clover leaf pool and towels always in numerous supply. The staff regularly toured the area checking if you required anything and serving your choices to you at your sun bed.
The general restaurant was very good and the fine dining excellent and not at all pretentious.
They couldn't do enough for our youngest (10 year old) daughter and made her feel special when serving her the gourmet food she was really keen to try.
The shuttle car to town and back (FOC) was a really nice touch and the drivers always dropped you exactly where you needed to be.
My only criticism is the exorbitant charge for bottled water which was completely unnecessary and we did record our dislike of this in our hotel review direct to the owners.

Room Tip: Choose the apartments which are in blocks just across from the main hotel but which provide for very...

Stayed in an apartment from 03/09 to 17/09 and thoroughly enjoyed the stay, the board basis included breakfast, which I have to say in all my global travels this was one, if not the best for choices and service.
The restaurants are excellent and both Senses and Moods serve delicious top class cuisine, we tried the sister hotel Vivenda twice and the food and aspect were world class as well.
The convenience of the shuttle service makes the stay relaxed if you want to leave the car and experience the 200 or so restaurants in Lagos, and bars which cater for all tastes young or old.
The service at the hotel apartment was first class and we had chosen an apartment to give us some informal freedom and flexibility and the discretion shown by the cleaning staff was excellent working around our daily schedules.quality of the apartment was superb and the utilities covered all we could need.
Pools were well managed particularly the main one where they had placed notices on every table adjacent to the sun beds asking people not to reserve them, a very welcome touch empathised by several guests we spoke to and it was clear that there were plenty of stock if needs required.
The overall design of the resort is well thought out with wide roads and plenty of scope for privacy. Above all the facilities were well maintained with ample towels and beds and another nice touch were the bags that hold two towels to allow you to use the beaches in comfort.
I cannot find any serious concerns it was one of the few vacations were I felt comfortably chilled and cosseted by the staff and service.
If I returned to Portugal this would be on top of my list of preferred properties, for both its excellence and location in the Algarve it has the lot, nightlife many world class beaches and food to satisfy the most discerning taste.
Nice one Cascade!

Room Tip: I preferred an apartment to a room but the rooms we saw looked equally as clean and well designed fo...

We have just arrive home from a week's holiday at this hotel.
The staff were all very good.
The 2 bed apartment over looking the sea was very well equipped with all amenities any one would need.
The shuttle car we felt would be better as a mini bus more efficient and cost effective.
We must say that having read reviews before we went put us off a bit. However, apart from the shuttle we could not fault this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea or pool view

Arrival
Check in was very efficient. Our bags were taken to our apartment whilst we were shown to the balcony for our complimentary arrival drink. You are able to choose anything from the menu and we were given the opportunity to have it later if we wished. When we were ready to go to our apartment we were taken there by a member of staff who showed us all the facilities.
Apartment
We stayed in a one bed apartment (no:1301) which was a 2 minute walk to the main hotel. We were in the end apartment on the ground floor which had a view out onto the driving range. It was very peaceful most of the time. Most of the week there was nobody staying in the apartment upstairs but when there were guests upstairs we did hear the scraping of the patio chairs which cannot really be helped. The driving range is for the use of guests only and whenever we were hanging around the apartment it was never very busy and we did not feel that our privacy was being invaded. The apartment was fully equipped and had its own sun loungers which was great. One piece of advice though - make sure you take the cushions off the sun loungers and chairs as the sprinklers go off nearby and with the wind they can get wet during the night. Also be aware that when we stayed the sprinklers went off at 10am so if you were on the sun loungers at this time you may get a shock ! There was a maid service everyday - towels were changed on a regular basis and the beds were changed every few days. They also replace the dishwasher tabs so no need to buy any.
Facilities
There are 2 pools. It was a quiet week when we were there so we didn't have any problems getting a sun lounger. It did start to get busier towards the end of the week and we did just manage to get the last two beds when we arrived late in the morning. We used the gym every day too, it was open from 8.30 every day and had a good range of equipment. There were two restaurants. We only used the moods restaurant. Had no problem getting a table. Although amusingly on our last night when we wanted to sit outside we were told there were no tables left when we could see loads and nobody came to sit at them the whole time we were there. Recommend you book to ensure a table outside. There is a takeaway service from the restaurant which we took advantage of. There is no additional charge to pick up the takeaway from the hotel. You can have it delivered for €7.
Location
There were two beaches close by. One was a 5 min walk from the hotel down a steep path and steps. Steps probably not suitable for people with young children. You can access the same beach by a more child friendly route which is around 15 mins walk via the road. The other beach was around 30 mins walk via the cliff top path and down some wooden steps. The resort is around a 5 minute drive from lagos old town. The hotel have a car service to take you into town and pick you up when you call them. They can also take you to the supermarket.

Had a very relaxing stay

Me and my girlfriend travelled around Spain and Portugal last month and Cascade was the best hotel in our trip. Not only the hotel installation but their crew is really above average. This hotel can only be compared with Ritz Carlton and very few boutique hotels.
Simply perfect.
