My husband and I booked a room at Cascade for our one year wedding anniversary after reading extensive reviews on TA. Upon arrival we were picked up by the free shuttle from the bus station, as we were arriving from Lisbon which we found very convenient. We were given a free welcome drink and then shown our room which had been upgraded to a suite. The room was gorgeous and our patio was perfect being that we could lay on our own lounge chairs, access the pool, and still have some privacy. The bathroom had a nice soak in tub and a separate rain shower which is just great after a day spent in the sun. The bed was very comfortable and the turn down service every night included delicious chocolates/cookies by your bed. Our first night we had dinner at Senses and arrived back to our room to find our bath had been filled with bubbles and rose petals, and there were many chocolates, cookies, chocolate covered strawberries, and a bottle of champagne. I'm assuming this was due to them knowing we were there on our anniversary and it was a great surprise.

We had dinner in the Senses restaurant on two occasions, once for day time tapas, and once for lunch. The dinner appetizers and mains are fabulous, although beware they are not huge portions. The desserts, however are very large and can be easily split. At times the service in the restaurant can be slow but both dinners were very pleasant. The tapas are very good as well and an excellant value. We split 9 tapas for lunch and it was 15 euros. Lunch service seemed to be the slowest with not many people working. The breakfast that is included is FABULOUS and has so many delicious items to choose from.

A few things that kept me from giving it 5 stars (some of which are in the works): The plaza where the shopping center is supposed to open is not open yet. It would be nice to have a market/convenience store to buy drinks, snacks, etc. We walked closer into town and brought things back to the room but having some stores and especially a deli/coffeeshop with some lunch alternatives on site would be ideal. We were also told conflicting info about the beach access. On arrival we were told there was a staircase down to the beach over the cliffs, but after not finding it and asking another staff member we were told it was too dangerous and was "a nude beach anyway." The beach is just around the corner but a good 10-15 minute walk with the hill. Make sure you go over the fence and walk along the cliffs to the light house pier as that is where we saw our most stunning views. We never would have known to do that as the staff do not promote the beauty that is just over the (unsightly) fence they have up.

We had a fabulous, relaxing, romantic holiday at Cascade and would love to return in the future when the entire resort is complete.

Room Tip: Book a sea view room, especially currently as the other side looks out over much of the unfinished l...

Stayed for the weekend with my wife, booked a sea view suite through the hotel website. The finished parts of the hotel look beautiful, great pool, good food from the restaurant (although portions were meagre). Unfortunately the whole experience was marred by problems with customer service, which I had been led by other reviewers to believe would have been good. When I checked in the room rate on their record of my booking was about two hundred euros per night more than the price I had agreed. I pointed this out and the staff member said he would change it. When it came to checking out the price had gone up further, and the total bill was vastly more than I had agreed, and the booking sheeting had not been changed to the correct rate. I was only able to get the rate changed by producing copies of the emails relating to the original booking. They also refused to give me a reciept stating that I had prepaid for transfers to and from the airport, this is done through a separate company but payment is taken by the hotel. After I insisted the receptionist gave me a handwritten receipt, but the whole experience was very dissappointing. This was my main cause for complaint but there were other issues also. At check in I asked to book a table in the restaurant, but when we arrived at the hotel restaurant they said they had no record of any booking, and the waiters petulant behaviour made us feel that he thought we were making it up. We had to ask for our twin beds to be made up as a double, and the towel rail in the bathroom fell off. In summary I won't be back, which is a pity as there is a good hotel here despite the abysmal service and the huge unfinished deserted building site surrounding the hotel.

Cascade Resort, Porto De Mos, Lagos 50 min journey from Faro airport. is a very new hotel having opened only last year. All rooms of high standard and executive class . Rooms are themed into 4 categories, South American, Asian, and African and European. The design, quality of finish is to a very high standard. A feature in all rooms is that the bathroom has a clear window into bedroom area with blind so that you can even look out over the sea from the bath – although all have a separate shower for those that do not have time to relax. Each has private balcony which is not overlooked. Has elegant bar lounge area and terrace area overlooking sea. Senses restaurant while not cheap has top notch food and wonderful presentation. Hotel has great spa treatment rooms, jaccuzi and heated outdoor pool as well as the main unheated pool in hotel complex. The landscaping has yet to be completed but you can enjoy a cliff walk to the lighthouse on the peninsula. Amazing views, but we were careful not to look too closely over the edge. The hotel also has self catering apartments directly opposite which were more geared to families with well equipped kitchens and high quality furnishings. Vivenda Miranda a ten minute walk from the hotel is the smaller established boutique resort of the same owner and a marevellous place to take dinner or relax in the beatiful gardens. Long term plans include a golf course for the Cascade resort and the laying out of the formal gardens. At present it feels a bit unfinished. A car is definitely needed. Resort although only 15 minute walk into town is uphill. There are no other restaurants or amenities close at hand. Would definitely recommend the hotel for a romantic, or relaxing get away, but not for families with small children... the cliff walk is quite dangerous and not fenced off. However, the self catering apartments opposite belonging to the hotel would be quite suitable.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool for the best views.

Beautiful hotel, with spacious rooms. We had a two person bedroom overlooking the swimming pool and the ocean. Nice bathroom with bathtub and separate shower with rainshower. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They gave us some tips about where to eat, which were all good. The bar itself serves the best cocktails and the restaurant serves wonderful meals. Breakfast is just great with many different things to choose from. Beach is a little further down the street, but is very nice. Beautiful surroundings, nice restaurant on top and if you like you can rent a chair so you don't have to sit in the sand. Lagos is a 20 minute walk. The beautiful road to take is via the cliffs, which is also great for running and-or biking. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone visiting the Algarve.

Room Tip: Room 207 is a good room. Close to the reception, but quiet with a nice balcony. Nice view over the s...

Cascade is not the cheapest place to stay but it is incredible luxurious and relaxing. My husband and I stayed for 4 nights during which we slept well, ate relatively healthy on the premises (the breakfast buffet is amazing!). We were able to relax fully but healthy options remained available. For example, we often used the gym and took long walks around the resort -- only to spend the rest of our time lounging by the pool. We appreciated this balance offered by the resort. The hotel seemed very kid-friendly. We do not have children ourselves and were a bit surprised by the number of families at the resort but were in no way disturbed. The staff at Cascade were highly knowledgeable and friendly. We were very impressed and would love to return!

Cascade resort in Lagos (Algarve) is a very recent hotel, around 1 year, and it is one of those hotels with huge potential to be best luxury 5* in the whole region, the potential is there but not full explored yet.
I wouldn't consider the Cascade as a family hotel (yet), the infrastructures are there but not working yet, kids club will start working during the summer.
The location is great, near "Porto de Mós" (around 1km) beach and with difficult access to a small -almost private- beach ("Canavial beach), the views over the ocean really helps to "clean" your eyes!
We stayed on the apartments area, so I can't advise on the hotel rooms, we chose a T2 which was a good choice since it was the 1st floor (top floor) on a villa - I think the T1 are mainly on the ground floors - it has big areas, fully furniture and equipped with everything needed even for long stays.
Part of the green areas are still under construction, and some of the existing ones I didn’t find it very well maintained, but overall it has great outdoor areas where you can walk and enjoy the landscape.
The hotel has all the infrastructures to receive sport teams (mainly soccer), well equipped gym, it has a fantastic and well maintained grass field, seems specially during European winter some north European teams already visited it to enjoy the very light winter of Algarve.
The breakfast is superb (it is not included on the apartment rate…and it is not cheap) with a lot of local and fresh things and with really everything you might think of. We tried once the restaurant, which is not cheap for Portuguese standards, but I can assure you it was well worth the money, excellent food and great service.
We visited (but didn’t use) the SPA, the “menu” seemed really good and staff very keen to help and suggest, but to be honest I was really expecting a better infrastructure, there are a lot of treatment rooms, outside heated swimming pool, but not indoor pool!!!! The sauna is outside which personally I don’t like it and there wasn’t a wet sauna.
At least for my kids one of the best things on this hotel was the outside sandy pool, they could spend hours and hours playing with the sand and going in and out of the pool, this pool is on the apartment area which is in fact a great idea since it leaves the big hotel pool for the other guests (typically couples) and this one for the apartments guests (typically families), it doesn't mean you can't use both pools.
The really really best thing on this hotel is the staff, everything single one of them tries always their best to be friendly and helpful on whatever they can, can’t thank them enough all the attention given. Especially Jessica the PR of the hotel was really great with the kids, doing different daily programs with them, allowing us for 1 or 2hrs free time without the kids, since the kids club is not working yet like said.
Based on the staff and organization I think this hotel can only go better and as soon all the green areas are finished it will be even better.
I don’t rate it with 5 because I would expect an indoor pool on a hotel of this category, but it doesn't mean this wasn't one of the best hotels I've been, the staff is indeed 5*, keep the great work!
