Food was quite good. The waitress was also very friendly and efficient. The kitchen, however, took ages to deliver our meal (30 mins for the clam starter, which was reccomended to is as a daily special, and yet another 20 min for the main courses!). When we ordered extra bread to dip in the clam sauce it took 15 mins to arrive (by then the clams were cold, the bread was burning hot, just out of the oven). The place was by no means busy (just 3 tables out of 10 were occupied). Make sure you are patient enough and have plenty of time to enjoy your meal.

Found this restaurant in the apartment block where we stayed. Lunch consisted of bread and olives, a choice of two or three main courses, five dessert choices with coffee and a drink with your meal all for €7.50. The food was well cooked and nicely presented . Popular with locals as well, which I think is always a good indication of quality.

We came to bom pecado as our villa owner had recommended it...we wanted to try authentic portuguese food. We were a little concerned as we have two young children (aged 8 and 5) but we needn't have been as they catered (off the menu) for our two with chicken and chips and pasta. We had the baked cheese to start and we would have liked to try the monkfish Catalena however we were advised that this requires 24 hrs notice. The waitress must have sensed our disappointment as she quickly came back with some fresh fish which chef offered to do us a grilled platter. It was amazing. We couldn't believe how much fish was brought to us, plus a lovely veg dish of new potatoes with cabbage tossed In garlic and butter. Several times the waitress asked if we would like more fish! It was amazing. This restaurant is off the 'tourist trail' and relies on word of mouth hence they really work hard to make sure you have a good experience. We will definitely return to sample some more dishes.

Hidden away among holiday appartment blocks, we came by Bom Pecado through Trip Advisor as we were looking for meat Cataplana for a party of five. Though the dish is not on the menu (the monk fish variation is) we were accommodated with 24 hrs notice, usually the practice with this dish. We had 2 prawn and 1 clam starters and the Cataplana between 5. The dishes were really full of flavour, the ingredients fresh and the portions were generous. We had some very good wine, Tyto Alba. I really liked our waitress who was friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. Prices were very reasonable. We went back for their E7.50 lunch deal 2 days later, which was tremendous value. Very much worth seeking this restaurant out. Recommended.

Having read the reviews we visited Bom Pecado for lunch arriving at 12.30 as recommended to make sure we got a table to be told by the waitress as we ordered that the lunch menu would not be ready until 1pm, ok we thought we'll order and wait as it's so highly recommended. At 1.30 she came back to say my husbands choice of baked cheese and bread was being taken off the menu as the cheese was too dry so he reordered. At 2pm (1.5 hours after we arrived) our meals finally came - 2 fish and chips, 2 turkey kebabs and chips and hubby's minute steak. We had 2 kids with us so an hour and a half for food is a very long time! The food was at best average and sadly we won't be seeking this place out again :(
