A beautiful modern hotel, everywhere is spotlessly clean and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very spacious with a large comfortable bed. The TV was ingenious - in the middle of a mirror. A lot of Portuguese TV is in English with Portuguese sub titles, therefore there was a good choice of programmes and films to watch. There were always plenty of sunbeds around both pool areas and the pool areas were lovely, however both outdoor pools were too cold and consequently not many people went in them. The grounds at the front of the hotel needs more work/landscaping as they look a little rough and undeveloped at the moment.
Although there was not too much choice of meals at the lower pool bar the food was very nice, if a little expensive (6.5 euros for a cheese and ham toastie and 4.5 euros for a portion of chips). The evening meals in the main restaurant however were in my opinion only of a 2* - 3* standard. There was not much choice, it was often cold, the menu was repetitive - tomato soup 7 nights running - the same three deserts every night (the ice cream made up for it as it was delicious). The dining room could do with a makeover as it is very bland with no atmosphere. Finally the entertainment - the same singers night after night - I think that this hotel is trying to be a 5* hotel on a budget - it should either be downgraded to a 4* or work on all of the comments that myself and the previous reviewers have made to make it truly a 5 * In a nutshell this is a very good hotel with a lot of plus points - overall we had a very relaxing holiday - with a little work on the previously mentioned problems this hotel would be an excellent choice in the future.

A modern well appointed hotel in a superb location. The hotel is close to a long stretch of clean sandy beach.(We visited the hotel w/c 15/09/13) The hotel is very peaceful, pool areas are excellent with plenty of sunbeds. Fresco restaurant had a limited selection, but what was on offer was of good quality.Staff here were very good. Lagos was a short train ride or long walk away and worth the effort. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Waiter service in the bar area could improve the speed of service. We had a really good holiday and would go again.
Nearly but not quite 5 star.

We visited yellow 3 years ago and it was a brand new hotel. It is spotless and have never had anything but fantastic service. It is a great distance from lagos town so that you do not need to be in the centre. Its only a short taxi ride away which is around 5 Euro or you can walk along the beautiful beach.
We visited again last year and was busier with Thompson reps. I think we preferred the hotel to ourselves but everyone there was fantastic and wanted to relax. This is not the place to go if you want a party holiday. Its a perfect hotel to go to forget the hustle and bustle. We will definitely be returning for a third time. We love this place.

As previous reviews, yes the rooms are of high quality, cleaned daily to a high standard, towels replenished daily and loved the robes and slippers. Reception and bar staff very helpful and friendly and of course our wonderful rep Angelo. Now for the downside
1 Tea and coffee not replenished in the room after day one( you get this in a basic guesthouse )
2 No waiter service
3 Breakfast was total chaos, tables not cleared, food cold, long queues for the egg counter, wont mention the toaster and having to wait for the staff to replenish the coffee/tea cups and juice glasses
4 Evening meal was bland no taste, cold and not replenished
5 Canteen staff very inexperienced and unhelpful

Have stayed in lower star rating hotels which provide much better service and food quality
Would we return or recommend this hotel its a big No No

Room Tip: High floor pool view

Not a good experience – a hotel that does not live up to its 5 stars, particularly with regard to service and food. The hotel predominantly caters for the mass package holiday clientele and is very much geared up for that (which it does ok) but this is at the cost of decent 5 star service and food; so if you want a posh Butlins experience this might be the place for you, otherwise, steer clear.

At first glance rooms appear nice but when you dig a bit deeper it becomes obvious that contemporary and trendy have taken priority over practicality. Lots of examples but picking out one – the bathroom is “open plan” with the living area and an enclosed toilet at rear. However to access it at night requires all the bathroom lights to be switched on flooding the whole bedroom in light – bizzare! Beds are good though.

A couple of other examples that illustrate a lack of service (there were more!):

* Asked reception for an iron to press a pair of trousers to go out in the evening - hotel response - we don’t provide irons, there is a 24 hour laundry service. Didn’t help and in any event, pressing a pair of trousers costs 6 Euros.

* Tea and coffee making facilities provided in the room on arrival. Having made a couple of drinks which the maid did not replenish, I asked reception for replacements – hotel response – we only provide an initial refreshment for day one, room service is then available for coffee/tea.

Finally, we paid extra for a front facing sea view so were consequently surprised and irritated to be allocated a room on level 01 to find that on opening the terrace doors we were immediately confronted with aswimming pool terrace andsun beds almost in the room! To cap it all, the view of the sea was over a series of sand dunes where the only water visible was on the far horizon some 20 miles away– not fair or accurate to describe it as a sea view.

Room Tip: If you want a sea facing room, make sure you don't get one on level 01

Absolutely wonderful hotel. Couldn't fault it one bit!
Super clean, great lobby area, rooms are amazing. Breakfast was great! Pools lovely, staff helpful, fresco restaurant good, didn't go to browns but I would think that was good too.

Fairly long walk to lagos but wasn't a problem for us :)

Went to celebrate our 'Ruby' wedding anniversary and daughters birthday. Not disappointed with the Hotel as it had a huge reception area and the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. The bedrooms are unusual with the bath being in the bedroom itself but the shower room was spacious.Rooms were clean and towels changed daily.

The location is fantastic as it's not close to rowdy bars etc and there are many ways of getting into Lagos town or any other destination on the Algarve if you plan your day.

Yes there is the usual 'towel brigade' who seem to want to claim the same sunbeds every day they are on holiday but on several occasions we went into town etc, returning early to mid afternoon and still found plenty empty sunbeds. The hotel has two pools so there is plenty room for everybody.
The only criticism I would have is the restaurant. The lay out and the decor gives the impression of being in a canteen and could definitely do with brightening up.Food choice is too repititious and there were no special theme nights as such but there is still ample choice if your not too fussy. The sweet bar and cheese trays were poor by any standards with very little imagination or change in choice evert day.

Overall though a very enjoyable stay and would definitely return not only because we enjoyed our stay but also to see if the restaurant is improved upon.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the upper pool are excellent and also have a sea view as well
