Sensimar Lagos by Yellow
Ranked #5 of 53 Hotels in Lagos
Certificate of Excellence

Returned today from two weeks at Yellow Lagos. Hotel is absolutely first class, the rooms are large, well designed and equipped with highest quality fittings. Our room was on the third floor and was set at an angle offering fabulous views of the sweeping Meia Pria beach and Palmares golf course towards Alvor in the East. The public areas of the hotels were bright and spacious and kept spotlessly clean at all times. The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Quality towels, bed linen and toiletries were changed daily and rooms were kept spotlessly clean by the very efficient friendly housekeeping staff.
The food was of a good standard, maybe not 5* international level, but varied, well presented and plentiful.
We booked this holiday with Thomson and can only say what tremendous value it offered. Arlene and Jess were trying very hard to make sure things went smoothly although the emphasis on the additional trips was apparent. Although Thomson had an entertainment rep at the hotel we saw very little of her or her attempts to provide a service to other than a very small group of customers.
On the whole a delightful holiday made extra special by the quality, service and setting of this impressive hotel. Thoroughly recommended.

Room Tip: Rooms on the third and fourth floor facing Alvor (east) have beautiful views and are very quiet

Only been here a few hours but what a great hotel.

The transfer was 2 hours 30 minutes which was way off the advertised 1 hour 10 minutes so I was not best pleased but the welcome at the Yellow Lagos soon had my mojo restored.

A fantastically appointed hotel, light lunch by the pool and I was getting right into this Fly and Flop break. There are four events each day and I took up the Spa tour at three and booked a Balneotherapy, which will be a first for me, once more the Spa was really well appointed.

A bit Flop next to the pool then a luxuriating bath in our free standing bath, his n her sinks too, fabulous.

The wifi is a must for me now on holidays and I was soon surfing with the free wifi, no hassle at all.

Looking forward now to the rest of our stay.

This very modern hotel, slightly over designed, but very comfortable was somewhat spoilt because at the beginning of the holiday there was not enough staff and subsequently when more staff were brought in they did not seem to be appropriately trained. Service at the bar was always extremely slow, food in the buffet style restaurant was not replenished often enough. There was a supplementary charge at the al a carte restaurant. There was complimentary tea and coffee in the rooms but was not replenished and when asked about this were told that any extra other than the the two sachets of tea and two of coffee initially provided would have to be paid for. Unfortunately this was not our expectation of a hotel with five star status.

Room Tip: A side sea view or full sea view would be the best choice in this hotel, unless you like to overlook...

Just returned from a week's holiday at the Yellow Lagos hotel. Hotel is very stylish and modern and we had a lovely room. Food however was an absolute let down. Cold bacon at breakfast, cold plates at both breakfast and dinner. On the Sunday night there was not even enough food to go round. My friend only managed to get a small amount of food as some of the tureens at the buffet were empty. We complained but nothing was done about the cold plates. Had a VERY long wait for a meal at the Pizza restaurant. When the soup eventually arrived most of us had lost the will to live. The management needs to take note of these comments and take remedial action. The weather was absolutely gorgeous.

We returned yesterday after a week at this very different hotel. I think happily retired have given a very accurate description of this hotel. The hotel is ultra modern and pristine clean, it also has wonderful sea views. We stayed on the fourth floor with a balcony facing the sea and Lagos, the view was breathtaking. The majority of the staff are young and new to the hotel so there were occasions when things went wrong but the Thomson reps soon had things put right. We went to Browns al a carte restaurant, the food and service was excellent. The Maitre D worked very hard and sorted out any issues in the other restaurants. As this is a couples only hotel there is a peaceful atmosphere and you can have an undisturbed nights sleep. Outside there are two pool areas and very comfortable sun beds. Outside areas are also kept spotless. We don't usually return to the same place but we may make an exception with this hotel.

Room Tip: Room 434 its fantasic

I have just returned from a holiday here travelling with my daughter. The hotel was clean modern and spacious. The bedrooms spectacular and the swimming pool area was excellent with extremely comfortable sun loungers. The two negative sides were that the food was poor and not replenished where by customers had to wait around for fresh supplies and the plates were always cold so that the meal was invariably cold. I had alerted staff several times to this problem but it was not corrected during my stay. The Italian Restaurant was very slow service, the night we eat there it took us 90mins to get our first course of soup which again was cold. I felt this was unacceptable as we were a party of six and no one else was in the restaurant that evening. There are no shops or supermarkets in walking distance of the hotel and Lagos is a long walk away. To say that the hotel was only 25% full I think that the staff needed to tighten up. Maybe this will happen as the season gets underway and they get into the swing of things.

Room Tip: Make sure you have a room which does not overlook the road

My fiancee and I were after a relaxing, sun-filled week and that's what we got for great value. The rooms are superb (we were upgraded to a sea-view room as it was our engagement) and the pool is world-class. The service was fantastic too, they went beyond to make our week extra special. Can't recommend it highly enough, great views, lots of space in a very scenic location.
