Came here on our honeymoon. Would definitely go back again. The owners were amazing, treating each guest as individuals. Talking to them at the level and way that made the guest feel comfortable. They were truly amazing. Full of useful information and able to get you to the really good places in the area. The hotel was fantastic. It is set away from most places, so a car is needed, but well worth the seclusion. Room was perfect. Very clean. Breakfast was always good, afternoon tea was fun. Could not have asked for more. Tripadvisor shows them as #1 in the area. This is well deserved.

Follow the advice on the best day-trips/beaches/walks/clifftop restaurants from Quinta Bonita's oh-so-cool owners Fraser and Chantelle and you'll relish every minute of your stay in this beautiful part of the world

Quinta Bonita is a beautiful boutique hotel which is stylishly decorated in a traditional Algarvian manner with all modern amenities. My husband booked the hotel as a surprise birthday treat and it did not disappoint. We had a beautiful apartment-style room with lovely sea views as well as the superb gardens and pool.
The service was very friendly and efficient on arrival and we were greeted with a welcome drink. This level of service from owners Chantelle, Frazer and all of the QB team continued throughout our stay. We loved the comfortable, spacious accommodation and it was a lovely touch to receive complimentary wine and flowers in our room. The surprises continued the next morning when we went to breakfast and were served champagne as a birthday treat . Later in the day, at afternoon tea, we were given some delicious homemade birthday cake . We really appreciated this thoughtfulness.
Chantelle was extremely helpful throughout our stay and nothing was too much trouble for her. As an alternative to the heated swimmimg pool, she organised for us to spend a complimentary day at the nearby golf club spa which was very enjoyable. She recommended restaurants in the local towns of Luz and Lagos and also organised taxis for us. The recommended restaurants were excellent.
We would not hesitate to recommend Quinta Bonita. We had a very relaxing, enjoyable stay which included excellent food and service. We would have liked to have stayed longer! The weather, which was not the best, did not detract from the beautiful setting of this lovely hotel.
We look forward to returning and enjoying the experience in sunny weather. Many thanks to all the QB staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

Arrival at Quinta Bonita proved a bit daunting, first to find the actual access to the property which has a visible sign visible from Highway 125, but actually requires access via an unpaved dirt road parallel to the highway. That road is some distance west and beyond the hotel. The highway marker says "Hotel". It is best to approach from the west on that dirt road in order to properly align with the hotel's daunting entry drive which very narrow driveway with walls looming on both sides. This driveway is quite steep and is especially difficult when the cobblestones are slippery from rain. Once through the gate to Quinta Bonita it becomes much simpler and welcoming.

Quinta Bonita is quite lovely, spotlessly clean, handsomely designed and quite comfortably furnished. We enjoyed our several nights stay there, though a few things did mar the enjoyment. Our premium rate "sea-view" room featured a only narrow sliver of a distant view of the sea about a mile away. Most hotel properties clarify such view limitations better I think. Therefore, it Is is not recommended to pay extra for Quinta Bonita's purported sea-view rooms.

Our "sea-view" double rooms, however, were comfortably decorated and more than ample in size. The baths, with shower and separate tub, were roomy and modern too. Take care of the polished marble floors which can be slippery.

Our view really were almost exclusively of the sizable pool (which few used due to the cool autumn air) and of the garden which was attractive. There is a running man-made waterfall which almost masks the traffic sounds from the nearby busy highway except at night.

The workers at Quinta Bonita were very friendly and helpful. The young owner-managers, who assume the role of workers every few days, were much less so. They were civil but not eager to please and were less likely be helpful, especially with luggage as the workers cheerfully did upon our arrival. That meant our party of seniors had to manage our heavy luggage down steep shiny marble stairs without assistance while one of the owners sat idly next to the stairs only to offer help when it was too late.

Another management deficiency occurred in the aftermath of a short power outage one evening. The electrical power came back on in less than an hour, but somehow the owner-managers failed to reset the water heater system or its circuit breaker. That resulted in guests having no hot water the next morning, which was many hours later! When we inquired about it we were informed in an off-hand way it was not a problem since hot water for showering was available at the swimming pool. But who knew? Instead management should have immediately reset the water heating system, or at the very least distributed notices to guest that the only hot water available was at the pool. Perhaps the management is inexperienced or short on empathy.

Breakfasts were very satisfying, featuring a small buffet plus an assortment of teas and coffees. Eggs and meat are cooked skillfully to order. Afternoon tea featured only one baked item daily, which was OK but definitely not worth rushing back to the hotel if one is out enjoying the region and/or beaches. There is a well stocked and multi-varied honor bar.

The town of Lagos is an easy, mostly highway, drive about 15 minutes away by car. Lagos features a wide variety of restaurants some of which are excellent. There is an underground car park beach-side near the town center and most restaurants and shops are within easy walking distance.

Would we stay at Quinta Bonita again? Maybe, it is comfortable and well situated for exploring the region, however it is a bit remote from Lagos, the nearest sizable town for shopping, dining, and beaches. The boutique hotel itself is quite pleasantly designed, well landscaped with a sizable swimming pool and they have a friendly resident geriatric cat as a bonus. The very good rating is given on the presumption that the issues above will be corrected in the future and that fundamentally Quinta Bonita is a nice option if one wishes to stay near but not in Lagos.

Room Tip: Inquire about a room sheltered from road noises, which are not loud but noticeable at night and when the roads are wet.

If you want a lovely, intimate convenient place to stay in the eastern Algarve, this is it. The service is good as are the breakfasts, the rooms are spacious, modernized and extremely comfortable. Our main issue is access which is hard to find and then difficult to negotiate once you do; however, after the first attempt, it becomes easier.
