Interesting views all round - make sure you go down all the steps to really experience the views. Be careful on the cliffs though, it's very scary if you go near the edge - I lost my bottle at one poibt and I'm 50 (on second thoughts that's probably why I lost it). Be careful with mobile young kids - might be an idea to keep them close/secure. Doesn't take very long so I'd suggest combining with a trip to Camilo beach and it makes for an interesting couple of hours.

Thank Andrew S

Great place for the views of the eroded rocks, distant prias, east to Alvor, and north. A motorised train, "Tchu Tchu", is just Euro 2.5 pp, and a pleasant trip between Lagos centre and the Point (though we walks sometimes as we walk in the UK).

With my friend we walked from town through Street Rua dos Bombeiros to coast. On the way to Ponta da Piedade we went through beautiful beaches Praia do Pinhao and Praia D. Ana, Praia Camillo. These beaches are surrounded by beautiful cliffs. View from the top of cliffs is breathtaking, there are different pathes, people can choose more extreme ones ( those narrow ones close to the edge) or more safe ones. On the Ponta da Piedade is possible to go down by stairs to see beautiful grottos, to these grottos is also possible to take boat trips, but on the day we were there it was too windy and boat trips were canceled.

Great Views of the cliffs, take the walk from the town and you will pass some other hotels and some lovely traditional properties. there is also a nice little are about half way where you can stop for some refreshments. If you don't want to walk take the train it takes about 15 minutes from town and gives you a mini tour at the same time. Enjoy!
