Ate here on the last night of our stay, was very disappointed! Firstly when the man came to take our order he kept turning away and talking to the other waiters and guests etc, i think we ended up giving our orders 3 times! The starters were lovely ( prawn cocktail ). However, the mains were a disaster, we had 5 steaks which 2 of these had to go back as they werent as ordered, the rest were under/ over cooked but we ate most of it! By the time we had finished our meal the newly cooked steaks hadnt come and nobody had come to apologise for the wait or the poor food! ( Bad service ) As soon as we had finished our food we wanted to get out of there, asked for the bill which came to over 100 euros which we thought was a rip off for the food and service we received!!

Ate here on our third night in Lagos. Food and service were ok, but didn't stand out - we both had the pork with figs, and while it was nice enough, the overcooked, watery veg let it down a bit.

This was our 3rd year returning to Lagos and in previous years we always visited Reis a couple of times during our holiday and always enjoyed it. So we returned again this year with the same expectations. In previous years you couldn't get a table to walk in to, the wait would have been at least 30mins. There was no such problem this year. The manager/owner always in 'pink polo shirt uniform' is the only staff member who takes the table orders. He starts to take our order and then gets totally distracted in who's coming in the door and making sure they're seated and to be honest I found this quite rude and disrespectful. We gave him the benefit of the doubt and returned another night with friends and the same happened again. Unacceptable. They have a big declaration on the wall outside stating its one of the oldest restaurants in Lagos est 1968 and always in the same family! It wont last if this is the treatment visitors get.
The food was only ok-ish nothing to write home about. Our drinks were forgotten about until I asked.
Will I return? Doubt it as there are many other excellent restaurants in Lagos.

We ate here 3 times. The staff were extremely friendly, attentive and welcoming. We loved the prawns in the house sauce as a starter. We had cataplana twice - once with monkfish and prawns and the other with pork, clams and prawns. Both excellent and plentiful. We also had the traditional rice stew with Monkfish and prawns which was also excellent and very hot and filling. We weren't rushed, which is often the case in restaurants in busy towns and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Judging by the number of people who were frequent visits (holiday makers and locals alike) we cannot be the only ones who had this opinion.

We have previously dined at this restaurant when staying in Lagos and hence the reason for this return visit. However, on this occasion we left extremely disappointed and in hindsight should have made our decision earlier after first impressions.
The manager seemed more intent on trying to seat as many new tables as possible and completely ignored us while half way through taking our order.
At no time during the meal were we asked if we required our drinks replenished and the food was bland overpriced and poor quality ingredients (frozen mixed veg as standard)
The steaks we ordered were like the sole of a flip flop and two meals returned as unacceptable. Restaurant Reis has slipped badly and there are far better quality restaurants in close proximity.
