This is a small restaurant run by a local former fishing family. It is also much used by locals. Best to book, and we were asked to come by 8.30 as there is a risk the fresh fish will sell out. Choose your fish at the door, a 300 gram portion from a selection of perhaps 5 or 6 species, and the rest follows. We had a smoked mackerel starter with a muscat wine (?) and I had a cheese desert. Wine limited but ok, fish outstanding and my wife had veal cutlets which she really enjoyed and were frsh cooked alongside the fish. All in all a good evening, but do not expect the niceties. It is not the environment for fine dining, but happily does not pretend to be. Just good ingredients well prepared.

The good:
Very fresh fish and they won't cheat you about the quality
The ambient is very simple with friendly staff
The price his fair
The not so good:
There could be times when they end up the fish from sea and there is only aquaculture fish, not so good in flavour but even then top quality

One of the few places I know were you can enjoy a fish meal without spending 50€ per person, I spend 15/20€

We had an evening meal at this fish resturant. it his hidden behind the TIvoli Hotel at the top of a narrow road. There are metal tables-bench seating for about 20 people, DO NOT let this put you off, on the wall there are hand written messages, 60 sardines, or 50 sardines, the reason being, they serve you free of charge, sardines, and do not stop until you tell them. Then people state how many they ate.
When you sit at your table they bring you a free small local drink, and you select from the fridge, your choice of VERY FRESH fish. We chose Stone Bass, it is the best fish i have ever tasted. Its not long before you start chatting to others on your table, The owners cook your fish and its beyond fantastic. The cost was very reasonable. I am told that people queue down the street to eat there. There are tables inside, but dont do it, the atmosphere is best at the outside tables. Please try it you will not be disappointed

You'll either need to book your table here or get there as they open (7.00/7.30). Beware this is serious fish-eating territory (although there are several meat dishes on the menu) and the locals will happily sit for a couple of hours, welcoming a non-stop delivery of freshly grilled sardines and baby mackerel (Carapaus). Even after you've chosen from the menu, the guy on the grill will continue to bring you sardines until either, a) your meal arrives or b) you politely refuse. We ordered the mixed fish grill for two and this plentiful, perfectly cooked dish was washed down with the House white - so simple, so satisfying.
Highly recommend this place with its lively, canteen-ish atmosphere - rough & ready but the food's great....and inexpensive.
