We were fortunate enough to get in without a reservation. The owner was super accommodating. My family of 4 all enjoyed their appetizers and entrees. Fantastic cuisine and as many have mentioned, the service is outstanding. My son and I split the Cataplana and it was just seafood explosion. You could literally take the whole bowl home for another soup meal. My wife had the sea bass and she said it was super delicious with the amazing sweet potatoes. My daughter had the filet and she loved it. Please be sure to make reservations as the restaurant is small with limited tables. You won't be disappointed.

You wont be dissapointed here! I had the seared tuna, and it was by far the best fish I've ever had. In addition to great food, the service cant be beat. The owner is so nice and fun to talk to. He made sure we had everything we needed, and we stayed long after finishing our meal to talk with him. If you have a chance, you should definitely eat here.

We visited The Real last year with friends decided to re visit this year .
We had a fabulous time my wife had the sea bass I had the lamb chops and excellent food and excellent service .
This is a gem of a place the food served is worthy of master chef , total respect for the team of staff there x thank you x

We booked beforehand, which is recommended, as this is a small but elegant and popular restaurant. This is top quality from the greeting by the owner Joao to the choices of food and the quality of the cooking managed by Joao’s Wife, the lead Chef.
My wife and I had the Portuguese-style monkfish and prawn Cataplana and our teenage boys had sea bass fillet with passion fruit sauce and potatoes and steak Portuguese-style. I will add a photograph, but this cannot show the amazing flavors. This was clever cooking.
The atmosphere, service and food made this the special event of our holiday to Lagos.

Hands down the best place to eat in Lagos. We booked earlier that afternoon (would definitely recommend) and were lucky enough to get the last table of the night. As soon as we sat down we felt so looked after. A relaxed vibe and intimate seating. The owner really shows how much he cares for customer satisfaction rather than rushing you out to have more people in - he made us feel so welcome.

We were left smiling before the food came out and even more so when we saw the Tuna dish and the Portuguese Steak. Both melt in your mouth and the wine was paired perfectly. Afterwards we were left with a glass (or 3) of port on the house and stumbled home still thinking of our wonderful experience.
