Overall this restaurant would take some beating wherever in the world it may be situated. The food is cooked without any fussy sauces masking the true taste. The grilled fish dishes, with always plenty of choice, are simple but taste amazing and very reasonably priced. The menu is very varied so suitable to all tastes, with options of "daily specials". Tables are very close to each other but this gives the opportunity to chat to whoever is sitting next to you! Staff very helpful, house wine reasonably priced but very drinkable. There is only one problem, you can queue to get seated as always busy but worth the wait.

This restaurant is certainly buzzing, with good food and lots of people clearly having a great time. We had an early meal at 6:15pm, and just managed to get a table. 90 mins later, when we left there was quite a queue, which says a lot in itself.
The menu is quite varied and has a number of local and typical Portuguese dishes, but not those created for tourists (like piri-piri chicken). We had lamb cutlets, a salad, grilled sardines and a dessert. Also a bottle of wine and large mineral water, and it all totalled less than 35 euros. I was astounded, especially given the quality and the exceptionally prompt and friendly service.
Other reviews say this is for eating on a budget, well yes, but it is also if you are eating to find great quality and authentic regional food.
Make sure you go there, it really should be number 1 in Lagos!

It was our first restaurant in Lagos, we ate and as it came out later - the best:-)
To make it short: great food at great value.
Tune steak - marvelous. Dourada - simply yummy...
The restaurant is small and full of people. Density rather high - put on the other hand, it has its charm. We truly recommend it.

Great to see the "Blue Door" open again after the renovations, now complete with a larger kitchen. The restaurant itself hasn't changed a bit - always packed, great food and probably the best (and busiest) waiting staff in Lagos. You've got to book or get there very early, but it will be worth it!
