Visited October '12 and the four of us had an outside table for dinner. We turned up without a booking.
All the food we had was excellent and the whole evening ambiance was excellent. We had a great evening. Service was on the slow side but you're on holiday so what? The waitresses had the disconcerting habit of fixing you with a rictus smile which put me in mind of some Cultists I had met many years before in San Francisco. Better than a scowl I suppose.

A few days later we phoned to make a reservation for another visit. Unable to understand the prerecorded message we drove up but found the place closed for the day - b*mmer

It is necessary to travel by taxi to and from this restaurant. When making the booking we were not informed that credit cards are not accepted. Fortunately we discovered that anyway from the internet. Our neighbouring table was not so lucky - they found out when the bill arrived and had insufficient cash, but pointed out reasonably that had they been told when they arrived they would have left after the first course. It was most embarrassing for all in the room who had no choice but to listen to the conversation.
The food was unexceptional and overpriced for an out of town restaurant in a somewhat jaded building. Presentation was poor, in particular one would not expect the main course to be served with everything on a single plate.

This was the 3rd year we had visited Lagos, but the first time we had been here. It was fabulous! So good we went back for another visit in the same week :) The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was great. The food is to die for, certainly the best food I had eaten in Lagos over the 3 years I had visited. There is a wonderful selection, and cater for all palettes and diets. I will certainly be returning again if we come back to Lagos.

After reading several positive reviews we decided to give it a try

The restaurant is located out of town in an old converted villa down a dirt track road.
It is easy to find but transport is a must.
Its a cash only establishment and we expected this to be factored into the price ....i.e. less expensive than other Lagos restaurants with a 'fine dining' tag....it wasn't.

The food was fresh and good and the service was efficent .However the lack of ambience inside the restaurant was a disappointment .It needed a lick of paint and the pictures of sad looking donkeys which adorn the place wasn't pleasing unless of course you are a fan of sad looking old donkeys......
None the less it is worth a try although I would recommend booking a garden table instead of inside ( weather permitting) .We visited in September 2012

This restaurant exceeded my expectations in just about every way that it could have. The food was excellent, the service impeccable and the surroundings quite lovely. I would recommend it to anyone who was looking for a place to spend a special evening out.
