Worth going just for the Roman mosaic which is stunning. Also there are lovely cloisters and interesting relics dotted about the museum.

“Great Exhibitions”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2013

Apart from the many interesting artifacts in this museum we were lucky enough to see a couple of exhibitions which I am not sure are permanent. One of wonderful charcoal pictures by Carlos Augusto Lyster Franco and the other, a series of paintings telling the ghostly story of Cassima one of three Moorish sisters who haunts the streets of the Algarve - excellent!

“3.000 years of history...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2013

A real look into the past and so many amazing things to learn. Very inspiring. There is so much things to see and there is no way someone can walk around and know where they are going and what they are looking, I suggest to pay a tour guide! It is so much information about history . The art is beautiful and the architecture is wonderful.

“Very nice building”

It's a small quiet museum, located in the great building. We really enjoyed the exhibition of paintings associated with the local myths.
