i just booked the hostel for one night because i had an early train to catch. it is very welllocated for the train station and the bus terminal. the airport bus also stops just outside. i arrived late at night and i was very hungry.the check in was very nice and i coul join the hostel dinner straight away which made my day.when i got it right the hostel owners mum had cooked a portuguese speciality - a cornflower dish with shellfish and shrimps - very nice! There was also wine and watermelon to go with it and all of it for just 6 €. There was a nice crowd of people around the table and we had a good talk. The bathrooms were very spacious and clean. The beds where very well made and clea as well. Overall very good!
The only advice for people who have problems with sleeping is to bring ear plugs. the dorm has three windows to the street and it was a little noisy.

Been to several hostels in Europe, US and Canada.. but this one's been the best so far!
Right in the centre of Faro, only 5 min walk from the bus station. From there you easily get to one of the beaches nearby.

Very nice furnished, clean, good breakfast in the morning and most important: very friendly and helpful hosts/employees.

Definitely come back any time soon!

When arriving by train/bus from Lisbon is a very good option, well located in the city of Faro near transports and very central. The hostel was very clean, good breackfast and nice friendly stuff. I think is a very good report between the price and service quality. I recommend it.

eventually i found a hostel in portugal, that offers a good breakfast!!!
enjoyed very much the experience to stay here - staff is super friendly, and committed to help.
as the hostel is quiet recent, you might miss a few little things like hangers or waste paper basket in the room, but this is a question of organization.
a place where you immediately feel comfy and familiar, different to a lot of hostels i stayed before.
def. coming back one day!

If you are in Portugal then you MUST stay at Hostel 33 in Faro - it is different - look at their website and see for yourself. Everyone is respectful, friendly, curious and interested to share experiences - not just traveller's but the staff as well. We were all ages - from 20's to 70's and shared meals and drinks and adventures. We would sit outside of an evening - on the roof, or small terrace - lovely. NO you cant spend your last day on the beach and then expect the Hostel to give you a free shower on your way to the airport!! The staff know EVERYWHERE to go - to buy shoes, boat trips, supermarkets, speak several languages and they are independent in their advise. When the hostel awards come I expect to see Hostel 33 get one!!

Room Tip: I would go for the room of 8x people - oddly there is more space!

The location is excellent and everything inside the hostel is great quality, but it is the owner/manager that really makes this place something special. He was instantly welcoming, offered lots of information on places to go and things to eat. I had several very long talks with him about running hostels and many thing, all of which I enjoyed greatly. My brother and I stayed here only one night, but wish we could have stayed more. If all hostels had such staff travelling would be a different experience.

Cute little hostel in a really convenient location. All the staff were really friendly and helpful - nice family feel. One of them even opened a bottle of algarve wine for us to share in the evening! Very clean, I'd definitely stay here again!
