We stayed for four nights in May. The location is fantastic, overlooking the Marina and at the arch of the Villa Adentro, lots of lovely restaurants and bars nearby. We found the hotel to be clean, comfortable and modern, with a great buffet breakfast and friendly helpful staff. Would recommend for a short stay to experience Faro and its surroundings.

Me and my friend stayed there over NYE period. Staff very friendly and helpful, especially Pietro - gave us lots of advice as it was our first time in Algarve and helped with planning our trip to Lisbon. Good location - overlooking the marina and just around the corner from the city centre. The highlight for us was breakfast - excellent quality and choice, served on the top floor/roof terrace, so with great views as well. Great coffee and pastel de natas. Rooms spacious and clean, same the bathroom. Would definitely come back.

We were greeted by a friendly gentleman at the front desk.. The room we had faced the pedestrian side, and although small, it was confortable and clean. Staff was helpful and friendly with all our inquiries. We looked forward to breakfast on the roof terrace because of the view and variety of food that was offered. We were in walking distance to restaurants, marina, train/bus stations and historic sites.

Room Tip: We had a room with only one window, I believe others had two. If you need more light in your room...

Dear Guest

We are grateful for your choice in our Hotel and for your positive comments about accommodation, service and location. Our rooms and service are established to achieve high quality standards and we are very happy as most our guests mention it positively, as well as our breakfast and terrace view are much appreciated.
Hotel location is the best in the city, as anyone can reach plenty of services, transports and visiting places in a walking distance, very appreciated by most guests, which makes us very happy.

Hope to welcome you again in our hotel in a near future.

We chose this hotel for its location and I would agree with everything said by the previous reviewer. The entrance has steep steps from the street, so we struggled with our cases both on arrival and departure. There didn't seem to be anyone from the hotel to help, and we wouldn't have expected the receptionist to do so.
We requested and got a quiet room, light and bright, appreciated the water in the fridge and having a modern safe. It was a spacious room, but had a step, yes a step, right across the room, which made getting from bed to the bathroom somewhat precarious. We would have requested a different room for a longer stay, but otherwise the room was perfect.
The receptionist was friendly and helpful, all other staff functional and efficient, but zero smiles.
Breakfast was good, with plenty choice, including cooked items, fruit, cereal, breads, pastries, cheeses and salad items. 'Hot' water for tea was only tepid and the scrambled egg inadequately cooked. We loved having breakfast on the terrace, with views over the marina.
This is a slightly bland hotel which could be so much more attractive. As it has conference facilities, I expect this is a priority, but there were plenty of tourists there enjoying short stays. There were no menus or drinks price lists. In fact, drinks were very reasonably priced, but many tourists would have assumed not.

Room Tip: Don't accept a room with a step across it!

Dear Guests,
We thank you for choosing our Hotel and we also thank you for your positive comments. Most of our guests mention our location as an extreme advantage and positive aspect.
Regarding entrance and carrying cases, the Hotel has a flat entrance on the side to facilitate; we regret to find out your difficulties, in your next stay, please ask reception to call help.
We take in consideration staff attitude in order to improve our welcoming service, something that we look for constantly.
Our breakfast is extremely appreciated for most our guests, thank you for positive appreciation.

It will be a pleasure receiving you again in a near future in our Hotel. All efforts will be done to provide you a wonderful stay.

Taxi c 10 Euros from Faro Airport (12 on way back!). Are buses for 3 Euros but just every 20 mins or so. Hotel is all about its front location - a local mini train city tour in view (40 mins for 3 Euros and quite comprehensive overview- do first!). Reception area is spacious n the place for free Wi-Fi - just could/should have a coffee/tea machine or small bar! Reception - indeed ALL staff excellent and helpful and...nice!! Back to location...really is perfect from across the road to marina and boat tours and fish restaurants, to at the right 5 mins to the bus & train stations! On the left it's all the old town's magnificent historical churches, towers, museums!! Inwards there are many bars, cafes, mini-markets, squares, shops, restaurants; more churches - don't miss the Carmo with its amazing Bones chapel (1 Euro!) and the Cemiterio!!! Get Faro MAP at Recptn. Also Malls etc - didn't go!
The Hotel is a tad dated? Modern as per room TV, shower good, but flaking masonry off balcony (we asked for a move from 224 to 218 to get one) walls, no outside light at night, bit squeaky beds (though fresh sheets every day was brilliant); toilet paper n towels a bit basic - changed towels each day shock! Bath slippy but no mat! :-( No kettle, tea or coffee :-( No Minibar - even though Room Directory says 'one every room' (was a small fridge with 2 bottles of water - and they were replaced each day, and free) - nor Safe!!! No robes or slippers either.
Breakfast on Rooftop Level (4) is very good as are the views of the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve n nesting Storks all around (protected as they are) oh and the planes coming in to Faro Airport - within sight but no big deal re noise and they take off in other direction! Food has good variety- mini sausages, bacon, eggs (scrambled AND fried?) and every fruit and veg and toast; juices and coffee and tea...pastries also, little Portuguese Custard cakes - yummy!! Bit 'same every day' then Frutatta n crepes n stuffed tomatoes appeared. Staff changed tablecloths each new guest! Outside on roof good but could to with better appearance - potted flowers, some flags... new chairs and tables... Advertise the Restaurant bar and food menu better - every room!!
Hotel used to be a shopping arcade so difficult room number ordering etc n small offshoots with rooms!! Could do with an ICE machine each level? At Lift doors?
Level 3 is a Smoking rooms' level.
Air con was good if was a tad loud?

Room Tip: Maybe ask and make sure you get a Balcony room n choose a Non Smoking / Smoking room! Ask for a view...

We stayed here for 4 nights end of March beginning of April. We booked a smoking room with a balcony which we got, although it wasn`t ready when we arrived, the gentleman was so apologetic we could not be cross . We left our bags and had a quick look around the marina for 40 minutes.
The room was a bit small but the balcony was about 8 foot square. The view was roof tops and a pair of storks on their nest! The room was very clean and as we were on the third floor on a side street there was no noise in the evenings to disturb our sleep.Breakfast was great but the hot water wasn`t hot enough to make a good cup of tea ( I took my own tea bags). Some guests had tea pots but no staff offered us one and we only saw staff briefly to replenish the food or clear tables. It would have been nice to have been greeted, even if it was to ask for our room number. We did go up in the afternoon but it was empty and hopefully it is used more in the summer. The hotel is ideally situated for the train and bus stations to go on day trips without the need to hire a car. There are a couple of mini markets around and you can buy a decent bottle of wine for 3 Euros.
Unfortunately it poured down (sheets of rain) a lot of the time we were there so we didn`t amble around looking for restaurants but went to the nearest- the hotel really should put the menu of their restaurant in the hotel rooms and reception area.
We did not like the steps at the entrance as there is no hand rail and our knees need a little hand at times. There is also a gentleman with perfect English and good manners ( Rhodesian
?) asking for any spare change. Check out was easy but we were asked if we had used anything from the mini bar which was strange as it only had 2 bottles of water in and we hadn`t touched them not knowing if they were complimentary or not. More information could be in the rooms such as T.V. channels and the fact that the pull switch over the bath is actually an alarm and reception will phone you up to make sure you are O.K if you have pulled when trying to work the shower!

We stayed in August 2013 and paid considerably less than we did in nearby Albufiera--even though we weren't on a beach we enjoyed our time in Faro more. The hotel is very close to the historic quarter and we had some great meals, all within walking distance to the hotel. We also took a boat from the marina next door to Deserta Island for a few hours. Nice (but basic) breakfast and beautiful views from the rooftop deck.

Room Tip: Our room with a view of the marina was beautiful and quiet.
