Hotel in a central position overlooking the harbour. Room was the standard double,  smart and clean with good wi-fi.  No shelving in bathroom, with barely any space around sink for toiletries - no big deal, just a little inconvenient. Tea and coffee facilities would have been a welcome addition. Breakfast was plentiful in a nice setting.
Main gripe, and hence only 3 stars, the hotel seemed to have no concept that the temperature in Faro can be hot in April, so 1) no air con in bedroom until May; and 2) the rooftop pool was dirty and had pieces of litter lodged at the bottom.  When I questioned the pool bar staff they confirmed the pool wasn't ready for use, however, as it was not roped off a few guests unwittingly swam in it.  We went almost daily as it was somewhere we could wear our swimgear and soak up some rays whilst having a drink, but even that was spoilt as there were no bar snacks (altho we could get dressed, walk to the lounge bar and get a bowl of free cashews!) All a bit of a shambles really. I'm sure that in the next few weeks they will have it sorted, but too late for us!.
The bar and restaurant staff were all very nice and polite, but understaffed, on several occasions we had to go in search of someone to either order a drink or to pay.
Pizzeria restaurant along harbour front, brilliant for an early evening drink listening to live bands and singers from around 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
We booked with jet2holidays and their service from check-in to departure was faultless.

This hotel is in a fabulous location, close to everything, the staff is friendly and courteous and responded to all our requests and inquiries promptly and efficiently. The room is typical European size, but having a private balcony is a bonus, make sure you book on the marina side of the hotel. The breakfast buffet has a good offering, the hot foods should be hotter, though. Recommend a pass on the dinner buffet, much better options in the area for a meal that is 20€ per person.
Overall, a great place and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

The hotel is a nice modern minimalist design throughout. The reception was a little slow - I do so hate when staff do admin tasks in front of you while you wait like a lemon. The welcome I think could be improved considerably. The room was fine but very poor shower pressure and no tissues in the room. Small things but annoying. However, what sets the Eva apart is the restaurant. The welcome is good, the service sharp and the quality / price ratio of the food superb. It is most likely more in high season but you can have your fill of decent food for €20 and not much more for a glass or two of wine. The restaurant is brilliantly designed for self service. Space between the tables and a small but well provided central food area means you dont have to walk too far or have people with hot plates of food colliding into you. Probably the best laid out buffet design I have seen. However, what really sets the Eva apart is the live piano player at breakfast. So amazing to listen to live music watching the works soar and the swallows duck and dive outside while you eat your breakfast. Love this!

Booked a 6 night stay. Just about " Very Good".
The plus side is location, modern, good food and reception. Nice top floor bar and restaurant and sun bathing area.
Down side extra charge for harbour facing rooms. Extra charge to use roof top pool/ area. Not informed that pool was closed until May and that A C was not on until May. No heating in room.
Received room heater and extra blankets on request but not on arrival/reception.
Movement of chairs on overhead floor late at night upset sleep. Room cold on first 2 nights.

The best part of my (one night) stay at Hotel Eva, was the enjoyable and lively piano soloist - Fernando - whilst having a breakfast beyond any expectations. Delicious to the ears, eyes and taste!
Thank you!
