Enjoyed 1 week here in May, weather was fantastic. The staff were nice and very helpful. We had a 2 bdr townhouse which overlooked the sea, and the beds & pillows were the best we have had in a long time, the pool area was nice, restaurant was very good, food a little expensive but well worth it. we had a lovely maid who put fresh flowers in one day, little touches like this are appreciated. Although location was good within easy walking distance into Carvoeiro, a car is recommended to appreciate the area. Looking forward to staying here again.

After staying at Pestana in September last year we booked again for June, we enjoyed another great holiday at Pestana, we had a townhouse (number 32) looked straight out to the ocean and again was well equipped, clean and modern.

Room Tip: Request either a seaview or a roof top terrace

we swapped our timeshare from pestana promenade first visit to portugal. loved the country the people very friendly. the palms is on a clifftop location and if you like walking you can go along the cliffs its a bit rough going in places but the views are fabulous. we had a town house with seaview which also looked onto a side wall of house NO 59 with a beautiful jacaranda tree outside. lovely house very clean with a friendly maid who put flowers in for us. a very nice beach nearby with family run snack bar serving portugese dishes called O STOP .the pool was good with sun loungers always available. can recommend this hotel very much and hope to return. my one gripe is that the reception promised to mail my postcards and and nearly 3 weeks later the have never arrived

Room Tip: those beginning with 7 have lovely sea views

Good location...about 10 minutes to town (but it is uphill on the way back although not bad), and about the same to the beach (all downhill with quite a few stairs). Pool is nice, but there's the annoying habit of people saving chairs before their butts are in them. Wifi is only available around the pool area and beware...if you're going to the pool area to check wifi be prepared to buy a beverage if you're going to sit near the snackbar otherwise the staff there may "gently" remind you that they're running a business. The wifi was supposed to be available in the "clubhouse" as well, but I wasn't able to access it there and neither was my friend I was travelling with. We had a two bedroom, 2 bath townhouse and it was really good. The only complaint I have about the place is that there are no screens on some of the windows (our bedroom) and the sliding door, so unless you want to be the midnight buffet for the mozzies best to keep the doors/window(s) closed. Kitchen was well enough equipped that we had no issues making meals. Housekeeping staff were really good. It was clean and staff in the reception area were really helpful too. Would stay here again, but I don't think I'd want to be in this area without a car.

Our stay at the Palms in early June was extremely pleasant. Our two bedroom apartment was well furnished and central and we made good use of the roof top sunloungers. The kitchen was well fitted out, although we ate out most of the time - there is a good restaurant on site and many others within easy reach. The pool area is attractive but not overlarge, with a children's pool for toddlers. All staff, from receptionionists to cleaners, were extremely friendly and helpful and made us very welcome. The gardens and palm trees are most impressive and beautifully kept. We definitely plan a return visit. But the nearest beach is a fair walk and we were pleased that we had a hire car with us to go further afield. Families with young children might find the location difficult without a car.
