We came here on our honeymoon, The staff were so helpful, they gave us champagne, strawberries and chocolate, they moved us to a wonderful room, the view from the balcony was stunning.
There was a great choice for breakfast. The pool was wonderful. A great place to chill.

Do not judge a book by its cover, yes this hotel could do with a lick of paint on the outside, light brown is not to everyones taste, having said that its by no means dog rough.
However once inside it all changes & you quickly forget your first impression, the open reception area like everywhere else is light & spacious. We never encountered anything but pleasant courteous staff, friendly & professional at all times.
We opted to pay the extra for the sea view & when we walked into our room on the 6th floor boy was it worth it !
Breakfast buffet was very good with a decent selection of very good quality food, the kitchen staff did an excellent job of making sure nothing ever ran out.
We were staying b & b but ate in the hotel one night & were not dispointed in any way.
Over all cannot wait to return sometime soon !

Room Tip: Don't be tight, pay extra for a sea view room

Myself and my husband are just back from a 4 day visit to this hotel. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Our room was standard, but had all the basics! We had a sea view and it was definately worth it, with stunning views over the cliff and pool area. Breakfast buffet had a good selection and it was nice to have the option to have breakfast alfresco! The pool bar was great for snacks and very reasonably priced. We had a great time and would definately return. The only thing i would say is bring your own hair dryer as the one in the room wouldn't even dry my husbands!!! Also the pool is not for the faint hearted!! Its freezing!! but once you get in its so refreshing from the heat!! we booked the room about 3 days before we travelled on the hotel's own website and got it for a fantastic price - 100euro's less than booking.com, hotels.com, alpharooms.com and lowcostholidays.ie. also the hotel does not provide irons you have to make use of a laundry service that you are charged for. This would be the only real negative thing i would have to say. we will definately be returning for another stay!!

Myself and wife have just completed a stay in the Tivoli. We have stayed here several times over the last few years. As other reviews have mentioned the outside could probably do with a lick of paint.

But as soon as your inside, we were first met with courteous, friendly and charming staff. The inside is kept in top shape. The rooms were cleaned to a high standard. The areas around the garden, cliffs, the coffee-shops were all neat and tidy. The sea view was spectacular and certainly worth it.

The breakfast had plenty of options with lots of freshly prepared food. The only criticism is with the sausages (mini frankfurters). The coffee machine may need to be improved.

I raved about the hotel after our last visit in March 2012 and could not wait to revisit. Have to say I was a bit let down on this visit Hotel was not full by any means but great reluctance to let us have a sea view without paying extra room we got was a side view and could do with upgrading decor wise . The food was ok still not a big choice but was quite tasty a lot if fish dishes and the desserts were lovely !! The bar though was disappointingly quiet and dull we had expected that at this time if year there would have been SOME entertainment after dinner but no . On the Friday night one brave guest played a medley of songs on the grand piano in the dining room and this was richly applauded by all but did the management take the hint NO! The situation of the Tivoli is superb but it us also so far from the main thrust of things that it cries out for a bit of imagination in entertainment even if it is only to encourage guests to spend money in the bar. They perhaps do have some later in the season ( I did think that last March too) but not everyone wants to holiday in July/August
Would go back sometime but will try another in the area first ??

We spent a week at the Tivoli at the beginning of May. From the minute we entered reception, the staff where extremely friendly, courteou, helpful and polite. We were shown straight to our sea view room, stunning view. The room was spacious, ok the decor was a little dated but very clean - the cleaning staff did an excellent job all week with clean towels delivered daily. The tv in the room was a large tft type with english channels. Kettle, tea, coffee etc is provided along with a mini bar - although it says it should only be used by the hotel, we put our stuff in there with no problems. A safe is provided at a small cost. Pool towels are available from reception. The location is perfect. We could not fault the breakfast - plenty of choice and was always hot, as were the plates. If you want an english style breakfast, stay in england! the food was always freshly cooked and replenished regularly. There are internet computers available in reception but they are extremely slow. If the management could make an improvement, the mattress on the bed was very hard - ok this is personal opinion but even my husband said this and he can sleep anywhere! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would gladly return.

Room Tip: Book a sea view room. We emailed the hotel in advance to request a double room in a quiet area away...

'.........how about cold bacon, cold beans, all provided on cold plates?' Not a sign of cooked tomato anywhere throughout our stay.
We have just spent 10 days at this hotel, and what a mixed bag it is. Our room was lovely, obviously refurbished recently, and the view we had was as true a definition of a full sea view that you could experience.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating and in terms of the reception service, there was a nice atmosphere and nothing was too much trouble for the staff there.
BUT, and a BIG but, our stay was completely ruined by a dreadful breakfast offering. When I refer to 'cold' food, I really mean cold, stone cold! The first day I dived in to the warming compartments to be faced with a number of fried eggs, all absolutely cold. Then moved to the bacon section which was filled to the top with transparent streaky bacon, so thin that it really was see-through. Then partook of cold beans. I returned to our table with such disbelief that I immediately returned to the counter to complain only to be told that the temperature on the warming pans would be increased. Day 2 through Day 8, exactly the same. I really had had enough of this rubbish by this time and insisted on seeing a senior manager.
I met with the hotel general manager's secretary, a very nice lady who informed me that, yes, they were aware of the problem and clients had mentioned it on the regular surveys they do. She explained that there were two problems - the doors opening on to the main Secondly, the food will be warmer when the weather is warmer!. But I could, if I wished to, have my food microwaved, however.
Excuse me! Wouldn't it make sense to move the bl..dy equipment away from the wind tunnel?
The true main problem, which they fail to recognise or maybe have not even identified, is that the food is delivered cold from the kitchen. I deliberately waited for the chef to put new eggs into the compartment and went up to get one, it was absolutely cold not a modicum of warmth emanated from it, similar the other ingredients.
People were complaining about the situation, even laughing about it, but doing SFA about it. Not for me, I love my holiday breakfasts and never again will I tolerate being served such inedible trash, because that it what it is, in my opinion.
Despite the lovely location nothing will tempt us back to the hotel again. For the management of this company to be aware of something so detrimental to their hotel and yet do nothing about it, is simply scandalous in my opinion .
Footnote is that drinks are expensive, a scrooge-like token 20% off in their happy hour, compared to Tivoli hotel,Lagos, where we had stayed the previous week, who offer 50% off.
After the sampling of the breakfast quality we did not dare attempt the evening dinner and, maybe in their considerations the management might question if this is a significant reason why there are so few people frequenting the evening dining room? The hotel was very near full during our stay and we rarely saw more than 20 people dining .
