Beautiful spot about 15 minutes walk from carvoeiro with caves and paths built into cliffs and one of the best situated bars you will ever see

“The water at its wildest”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

Algarve Seco is on the outskirts of Carvoeiro and is a not to be missed sight. It is not for those with no head for heights though and you do need to be reasonably sure footed. You walk down some (quite a lot) of steps from the roadway among beautiful natural cliffs and coves. The water crashes in around you. You can walk right out to the cliff edges and up some steps cut out of the rock. It is a lovely little area to explore and you can follow the many small paths along the coast to the Amansor hotel, then on to Praia Marinha and on to Benagil if you want.
There is a beach cafe perched down near the water, which has been cleaned up in recent years and offers lovely cocktails and grilled fish.

“Great diving/snorkling!”
Reviewed June 4, 2013

Beaauuutiful! When the tide is low you can swim in a cave and through a tunnel to come outside the cliffs. Otherwise there are steps of stone. I would NOT recommend it for kids, the currents are strong and can throw you into the rocks/cliffs. The water is cold but beautiful and super clear. Adrenaline kick experience!

“A well kept secret!”
Reviewed May 30, 2013

Amazing rock & cave formations a few short steps from the cliff top (Take extreme care if you have kids in tow cos there are no ropes/fences to keep you away from the sheer drops!)
