We had a week over the October half term with our two boys (10 and 6) on an all inclusive basis.

Accomodation superb value for money.

A few comments:
1. Childs menu is the same lunch time and evening so gets a bit repetitive after a few days. Our eldest started having items from the 'adults' evening menu and we noted that in this case he was given slighlty smaller portions than the adults which was ideal.

2. As 'Out of season' no childs club which seemed strange considering the number of children there for half term holiday.

Waiting / Bar staff are superb and each makes you very welcome.
All become on 'first' name terms quickly due to them wearing name badges, so thanks to Jose, Rui, Ruben and Anna and all the others.

Room Tip: All villas have 2 x double bedrooms with en-suite - family villas have single beds in second room. Otherwise all are the same. Complex not too large so no issues in being far from 'Club House'.

Just returned from an absolutely fantastic short break in this resort/complex! Four of us travelled from the north east to Faro and were taken by minibus to our accommodation in Vale da Lapa...a transfer of around forty minutes. We had booked two apartments and had chosen the all inclusive option as it appeared to be a real bargain - we were not disappointed! Everything about this holiday was exceptional...especially being upgraded to a luxurious three bedroomed villa with a private pool! The reception staff, notably Marianna, were wonderfully helpful, courteous, knowledgeable about nearby places to visit...nothing was too much trouble and they clearly enjoyed being a support to their guests. The restaurant and bar staff were similarly talented, extremely hardworking and eager to please. The quality of the food was sublime...none of us experienced anything other than excellence (and we are frequent Michelin diners!).
The villa was set in beautifully landscaped gardens and was magnificent...high quality furnishings, scrupulously clean and an abundance of polished marble...fabulous! We can't wait to return and explore this gorgeous area further!

Room Tip: Ask for an apartment near the reception area...close to the spa, restaurant, bar and pool. Choose the All Inclusive option...it's terrific value!

Just returned form a 4 night break with the family. The suite (villa's!!) are immaculate with every little finishing touch - 2 en-suites (one with bath and walk in shower) - large living area and fully equipped kitchen with high end appliances etc. Electric shutters on all windows / patio doors. Own garden space and patio with balcony upstairs. The facilities are great with large outdoor pool and nice heated indoor pool and hot tub. We stayed all inclusive.............and it really was - massive choice at breakfast buffet, large lunch menu and 3 course evening menu (both served to you at the table) all drinks, including cocktail of the day! Peaceful, relaxing location - a long walk to the beach, but a cab was just over 5 euro (reception called for us and it was there within a few mins). The weather was perfect too.....BUT.....what really makes this place is the STAFF.......they are all sooooo nice!! Always a smile a kind word - nothing is too much trouble - can't do enough for you - great with the children.......so polite. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to go back. A BIG than you to everyone at Vale Da Lapa for a wonderful break!!!!!

Room Tip: Don't think you can go wrong!

Having read the previous reviews we decided to try this resort. From the moment we stepped inside of the hotel, the 5 star experience began. We were greeted by a wonderful receptionist (really sorry that I did not get her name), we were offered juice or water for the children and a glass of Cava for my husband and I.On checking in, we were advised that we would be upgraded to a 3 bedroom villa with our own pool from our 2 bedroom Townhouse that was originally booked. We could not believe our luck as it was as the receptionist said, HUGE. Immaculate, modern, spacious and pure luxury. 3 bedrooms (all en suite), private pool, sun beds, roof terrace, plasma tv in every room and English channels, BBC 1, 2, 3 & 4. The beds were massive, the rooms were cleaned every day and every window had electronic shutters that kept the villa lovely and cool throughout the day. The communal pool was great and the indoor pool even better (take a swimming cap for the indoor pool). Great breakfast with loads of choice, coffee machine serving great Lattes and happy hour is from 17:00 - 20:00, glass of wine 1 Euro and a pint of beer 2 Euro's, what a winner. We would all highly recommend the beautiful resort, will need a car but be prepared to be ripped off at the airport. Car cost £72.00 with Goldcar which included the 900 Euro excess cover, got to the airport and had to leave an authorisation on my credit card for 900 Euro's and had to pay for a full tank of fuel, this cost yet another 78 Euro's. All in all, the car side of the holiday was extremely stressful as frightened to death of having a bump or scratch, plus we only used a 1/4 of a tank so again ripped off with a full tank. However, please don't let this put you off, just do your homework before travelling or get a taxi at last resort. We will definitely return to this resort, wonderful, peaceful, relaxing and luxurious.

Room Tip: Villas are fantastic

i have just returnred from my 4th holiday in 12months at this hotel. it never dissapoints. the staff are amazing and always so attentive, particularly anna who always seems to know my needs.the accomodation is fantastic for a holiday resort. stayed in a villa which was equiped to the highest standard. i have stayed in 3 villas so far and they have all been wonderfull, also i have stayed in a town house which was also furnished to the highest standard with lots of space. i am fortunate to be able to take a few holidays each year but always come back here inbetwean.i would sugest you need a car here as it is a little off the beaten track but that is what makes it so desirable and with a car you are within driving distance to so many lovely places along this fabulouse coast. thankyou to management and all he staff for making my time here always so memorable. i shall be returning in the very near future
