Just returned from a weeks stay here, very restful, we relaxed by the pool which was'nt crowded, We dined here 3 nights dont recomend the meat it was tough even the fillet steak, but the fish was perfect. Breakfast was good everything you would want was there and plenty of it The dining staff very helpful and friendly. We were here 3 days before we knew there was transport to and from the beach we were walking down and taking a taxi back 5 Euros. It seemed to depend which receptionest was on duty for information.
Perfect for all ages from babies to the older generation. Housekeeping was very good they too where friendly.
Just one quibble to another wise perfect holiday, the mattress was terrible not the quality you would expect of a 5 star hotel the pillows also would need upgraded. Love to go back.

My husband, myself, and 20 year old daughter have recently returned from 10 days at this fabulous resort during September 2012, and had a wonderful time! The temperature sat at a very nice 26-30 degrees (on one day it reached 35 degrees) with wall-to-wall sunshine and not one cloudy day.

Vale de Lapa is a perfect resort. The apartments are modern, comfortably furnished, and absolutely spotlessly clean (and I am a perfectionist in this respect!). It seemed as if they were brand new and we were the first occupants. The villa comprised of a large living area, with a dining area set slightly apart - with a huge dining table. A modern state of the art kitchen complete with immaculate appliances & huge fridge/freezer, plus a large cloakroom finished off the downstairs accommodation. Upstairs, were two very large double bedrooms, two en-suite bathrooms and the master also had a separate dressing room and large balcony overlooking the pool. A wonderful feeling of light and space permeated the whole apartment and if you find yourself wondering how you will sleep without heavy curtains or blinds, the answer is at the push of a button and electronic sliding shutters close down each window at night. And what a great feeling every single morning to raise the shutters to glorious blue sky and sunshine!

We were in Villa no 1 which was right next to the pool and so were able to stroll back at lunchtime to sit on our ground floor balcony & indulge in fresh baguettes from the local shop, ham, cheeses, tomatoes and wine (bliss!). On other days, we sat on the poolside terrace and sampled the fantastic lunch menu of which there was a variety to suit all tastes and ages. On one morning, I took some time to jog around the resort and felt that each villa was well positioned with good views and lovely gardens. It had obviously been very well planned when being built and there are small water features and colourful flowers throughout the site. I also feel that every villa is close enough to the pool area and restaurant - maybe a 5-10 minute walk at most.

The staff at the resort were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Even allowing us to use their computer/printer to obtain discount vouchers for one of the water parks. My daugther was delighted to see that wireless access extended to the pool deck which allowed uninterrupted sunbathing whilst still keeping in touch with friends back in the UK!

I have noticed some previous comments related to the pool deck and shade. We did not have a problem - and my husband will not sit in the sun at all. We always managed to obtain a spot with a parasol and there were certainly enough sun beds.

The seaside town of Carvoeiro is gorgeous and set on the side of hills sloping down to the sea. There are more than enough excellent restaurants to try a different one every night! The town also had a good mixture of native Portuguese families and tourists- so you will feel as if you are getting a true flavour of the country and not just being over-run with other nationalities!

In summary - Vale de Lapa Resot & Spa is a fabulous place and one we hope to return to. As a family, we have travelled all over the world and this was our first experience of The Algarve. What a great first experience we had!

Room Tip: Closer to the pool area if possible (but not essential).

My girlfriend and I have just returned from a great holiday at Vale Da Lapa. We read a lot of reviews on here about the hotel and wonder at times what people are wanting from a holiday?

This hotel is superb. the accommodation is absolutely first class, staff really friendly and more than happy to sort out any query.

It was really peaceful and although we were here in September, the pool was never that crowded and we always managed to get a poolside umbrella.

The wifi is available around the reception area and bar but be patient as it is a bit slow. The hotel will give you a wired router for your apartment which is a bit quicker.

Carvoeiro is a taxi ride away and cost about 5 euro's each way. There are some excellent restaurants nearby that offer great food and very good vale for money. There is also a really reasonable supermarket at the top of the road.

If you want a relaxing holiday in first class at a first class hotel then you don't need to look much further than this place. We are already looking to book for next year!

We have been there for 5 days , from 21st of September .We received villa no.6 - so close to the pool and restaurant ( very important , otherwise the villas starting from no.30 and so on are far away ). The villas , restaurant , pool , spa are exellant . But the more important is the service offered by the staff ! The people working there are very nice , hopeful , smilling all the time !
In general I can recommend the hotel to everybody - couples, families with small children , seniors .If you need the rest and tranquility in nice place - go there, you will find that !
One remark about the place - you will need the car .The beaches ( wonderful ) , small cities etc are not in walking distance . Otherwise you can rent a bike in the hotel .

Room Tip: try to ask for rooms near the reception

Lovely place with excellent villas and suites (that are smaller villas). All suites are AC equipped.
Nice outdoor pool and covered heated pool.
Good breakfast with a nice variety of food but poor (slow) reposition.
There is a small gym and a spa that we didn't use.
