“Fabulous Hotel”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

When we first arrived, our room was understandably not ready as we checked in at 09 30.
The porter/ waiter advised us to change in the washroom, and go and chill to the room was ready -,poolside.
Checked into room about 13 00, and from then on it was a brilliant stay at this hotel. Ticked all the boxes, even champagne for breakfast!!
Book with confidence.

I have just returned from a 10 day holiday at the Porto Bay Falesia and it was wonderful. The accomodation was spotless and extremely comfortable. The staff were exceptional - the restaurant waiters even taking the time to teach my daughter how to fold table napkins into different shapes! The hotel grounds were superb and the views are spectacular. The food was good with a huge choice available every night. I would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to return myself in the near future.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with A FRONT ocean view. We had a side view which although was pleasant and you c...

My husband and I returned on Sunday after a weeks stay at the Porto Bay Felisa. The hotel exceeded all of our expectations. We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary and before departure I had emailed and asked for an upgrade on our room, which unforturnately the hotel were unable provide, however the standard room (380) which we had was better than we imagined. Spacious, very comfortable and with little extras that you don't normally get. Pool towels, tea and coffee making facilities. We were also welcomed with a complimentary bottle of champagene, water and fruit, THANKYOU.

The hotel is very well run and spotlessly clean by the friendly hard working staff. The food is excellent, both breakfast and evening meal choices varied and of very high quality.

The views from the pool and garden areas are fantastic, with no need to reserve sun loungers as there are plenty. Also there are 3 different decking areas with comfortable seating giving wonderful views over the Atlantic and Albuferia.

Access to the beach is via 134 steps but well worth it. The walk along the beach to Villamoure took us about 1hr 20 min. There are a few beach bars on the way to stop off for a well earned drink.

We will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and we hope to return in another couple of years.

A friend and I spent 3 nights here in early October and we were not disappointed with anything in the hotel or its services. The breakfast buffet was fabulous (get there before 8:00 if you want a table on the outdoor terrace), the beds were super comfortable, and the walk to Falesia beach below was worth the effort. Though we did not eat at the hotel for other meals, the front desk staff supplied a map of the neighboring town that had various eating establishments, we tried 3 different restaurants, and all were great. Upon first arrriving and trying to locate the hotel, it was a little confusing, as the signage from the road did not lead you directly to the hotel parking lot. We had to ask a couple of the other surronding hotels which building Porto Bay was. Hint: Look up on the roof of the buildings. A great town in the off season and for our intro to the Algarve region.

Thank you very much for your review. The best way to find the Hotel at Olhos d'Água is looking up on the roof of the building, there is a big Porto Bay Falésia logo. Looking forward to welcome you back at the Porto Bay Falésia, now you know the way. Best regards. Fernando Reis Filipe

A very well run hotel where the staff were all extremely hard working, friendly and courteous. The grounds are clean and well maintained. The views over the cliffs and Atlantic ocean are beautiful and you can hear the waves breaking on the shore below when sunbathing in the gardens.
The breakfasts are the best I have had in this type of holiday hotel - the variety of food available was incredible - the coffee and milk were kept warm in flask type jugs (other hotels could learn from this) and the waiting staff were very efficient.
The only minus for me was that I thought that the drink and snack prices were too expensive when the same produce was available for at least half the price down the street.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the porto Bay Falesia. I can honestly say this hotel is fab. The rooms are clean and well furnished. Very comfortable beds. Sheets are changed weekly and the towels as often as you require. Pool towels were supplied which was an added bonus. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food was great, so much choice and all buffet style. We stayed bed and breakfast but chose to eat in for the evening buffet a couple of times. I can honestly say we wish we had stayed half board. Should you choose to stay as B&B and wish to eat in the restaurant, speak to reception as they can do you some deals. The more nights you eat in the cheaper the meal. Drinks in the hotel can be quite expensive so the happy hour is worth a go! The area itself is quiet and peaceful which is just what we were looking for. The indoor spa, pool, sauna and jacuzzi were great. Another great thing was the fact that there was never a race for sunbeds around the pool area. The hotel was quite busy but there was none of this malarky of putting your towel out to reserve sunbeds and then not turning up again til after lunch. Bed reserving was not allowed and to be frank never needed. Weather was also 28 degrees most days. Fab fab fab- thats all I can say. Will definately be going back.

Having stayed at Porto Bay hotels consistently for the last 15 years or so, was interested to see how the Porto Bay Falesia compared with its sister hotels in Madeira. I am really happy to say it exceeded all our expectations!
The hotel is in a fantastic spot, perfect for relaxation and the stroll (!) down to the beach. Having read other reviews about the steps was a bit worried but was not half as bad as I expected it to be! It was definitely worth it as Falesia beach is absolutely stunning. There are lots of different places around the hotel grounds to relax, seating areas, lounge areas and so on - so you are not just 'round the pool'.
The themed buffet nights are excellent value for money - and I would even go as far to say the quality and choice is better than the Cliff Bay. The rooms are lovely, spotless and the Chambermaid who did our room every day was one of the nicest people, always smiling. At first we were a bit disappointed with our room - which overlooked the car park - but to be honest was lovely and quiet and would ask for the same room again!

Thank you very much for your review. In fact the steps down to the beach are a great morning exercise, happy to know we aren't to far from the Cliff's quality of food. Looking forward to welcome you back at the Porto Bay Falésia. Best regards. Fernando Reis Filipe
