This hotel was very clean and the facilities were good.
Our room was very spacious and furnished and decorated to a good standard.
The hotel has got 2 pools with one being a kids pool and the other a mixed age pool.
The hotel location isn't the greatest as its at the top of the strip and is uphill when walking back.

Have just returned from our annual trip to Montechoro and we decided to give the Hotel Montechoro another chance after last years disappointment. Once again the hotel was under utilised - with whole floors closed off and others partially open. One morning we were 2 of 4 people at breakfast and it was concerning when on the second day the tea and coffee making machines and fruit juice dispensers were removed and urns put in their place.
Having stayed at this hotel for over 20yrs we were disappointed that many 'old faithful' staff had gone and new faces were present although they were very keen to try and help in any way they could. There is some evidence of investment having taken place - a flat screen tv was in our room but the décor was badly in need of a lick of paint and the carpets are frayed and obviously 'originals'.
The reality is this is not a 4 star hotel it is 3 at best however.... clean sheets and towels daily / ensuite room with good hot water supply/ handy for the strip where there are plenty of restaurants to enjoy of an evening and all costing the same for a weeks stay what you would pay for a weekend in London brings it into perspectve. So it is a bargain and you do only use the hotel as a base.
So would I go again?? - yes I would however the disappointment for me is that I remember when the montechoro was THE place to stay and had a regal presence at the top of the strip and this is no longer the case. But top tip is do ask for a pool view or you will be overlooking a dismantled fun area and Irish Bar.

Room Tip: Ask for level 9 with a pool / sea view.

Stopped here for a four night b&b break in april .everything we asked for was no trouble for the friendly staff . We asked for a high rise room with a sunny aspect overlooking the pool ,which was granted . The room was really spacious ,clean and airy with lovely sea views . The breakfast was very good with a good selection of english or continental choices .With the hotel being located at the top end of the strip you are far enough away from the stag and hen party pubs ,but yet there is enough bars and restaurants near hand , so the hotel ideally situated .There is also a courtesy people carrier to take you to the beach or centre if required ,which we used .Overall as my title says .COULDN"T FAULT IT !

Room Tip: We stopped on the 8th floor overlooking the pool with lovely views and plenty of sun.

Its a lovely big spacious hotel, old and worn yes, but huge rooms, excellent friendly staff, the cleaning was regular, friendly and immaculate, no tea/coffee facility in the rooms was unfortunate.
Extra blankets provided for cold nights and we had a radiator.
Take extension socket as limited plug space.
The food and drink was appalling so I was disappointed to have paid extra for breakfast and Dinner however there are so many places to eat as long as you avoid the many over commercialised English food serving restaurants and nasty pub life.
Long walk down to the beach but in this weather it felt so good to exercise that bit more and the beaches are sandy, with pebbles appearing into the cold Atlantic crashing waves but so beautiful... venture along past the rock caves to find lovely secluded spots... amazing, so hot, with a cold breeze at times and we would love to return with all the family!

Room Tip: High floor, balcony room, south facing the sea and sun...

Stayed here in 2007. This hotel would be fine for a budget hotel, but unfortunately its not good value for money. Bedrooms are a good seize, but well worn and basic. We were on a high floor so noise from the bar across the street wasnt a problem. Breakfast wasnt bad but could have been better...it was hard to navigate through the groups of sun-scorched package holidaymakers. I skipped breakfast a couple of mornings and ate elsewhere.

Tip: Don't be fooled by the pseudo-Arabian rooftop restuarant. The food is mediocre and I felt it was a cynical attempt at a tourist shakedown.

Dear Guest,

I would like to thank you for your feedback on TripAdvisor with an unfavorable review.
It was with genuine concern that I read about your unfortunate restaurant experience and I do understand how a holiday can so often be spoilt by just one regrettable incident.

I would like to offer my sincerest apologies for the inconvenience and reassure you that I will address the issue with the relevant manager for corrective action.

Again, thank you for your comments and in spite of your disappointment on this occasion, I hope you will consider visiting us again at some point in the future.

Kind regards,

just booked our 2013 summer holiday for Montechoro hotel, this will be our 4th stay at this hotel, yes it might need a refurb, but it is still an excellent hotel, clean, comfortable, great service and food, and also at top of the strip so near to all amenities.
we booked this holiday package deal through 'lowcostholidays' and found it to be the cheapest deal at time of booking, have booked holidays with them before and find them to be very competitive with prices.
