Spent one week at this hotel. We were half board:one bedroom studio. Our room was cleaned everyday with clean towels etc. All staff were polite and very helpful. The food was not fancy but good. Would have thought Internet access should have been available throughout the hotel and not just within the reception area.
Did not enjoy the location of our room as was close to bar etc therefore very noisy at night.
One criticism would be the in house entertainment....cringe factor comes to mind

We have just returned from a week in Portugal at the Luna Alpinus and we are very disappointed. Portugal itself is gorgeous, the Algarve is very beautiful and the climate is lovely. Flights were good from LBA and Jet2 were good.

However the hotel was the downside to the holiday.

Majority of the staff were rude, exceptions of about 2. However the rest really made you feel rather like an inconvenience to them. The food was the same day in, day out both lunch and dinner, booked all inclusive but decided to eat out instead. I'm not sure how they can class themselves as all inclusive when barely anything was included. The very bare minimum was provided.

The rooms were basic, we had a one bed apt which was big enough but not exactly luxury. We had to have someone up to the safe which broke, came home one day to find the lounge flooded from the air con unit, the water went off another day and we had to wait about 6 hours for it to come on again and the main road outside our room was very noisy throughout the night.

The pool side was ok, the pool clean enough however not enough sun beds and no where near enough umbrellas so we ended up down on the beach and bought an umberella from the local shop.

There isn't much in the area, so if you go bear in mind you will prob have to spend €10/15 each way in a taxi to the main town. Or get on the local bus although it doesn't run very often, the hotel does provide a free shuttle, however it only runs twice a day at 09.30 and 14.30 and you have to book it 2 days in advance!!

The zoomarine is definitely a place to visit if you have kids with you. A thoroughly enjoyable day. The open top sightseeing bus is also good with kids.

All in all we enjoyed the holiday but I will defiantly not be returning to the Alpinus or any other hotel in their chain.

These hotel apartments are outside the main resort and a 12 euro taxi rise from the beach. The apartments are spacious and very clean but it is a mistake to go all inclusive as the food is insipid and unimaginative. There are two pools and both of which had pop tunes being played constantly. If you like listening to REM 'that's me in the corner..', 'everybody hurts..', Bread: ''I would give every thing I own' etc. over and over every day this may this may suit, personally I would have suggested they make on of the pools a quiet area.

The manager is helpful and efficient but the receptionists are not (think 'computer says no'). However, we found the bar staff friendly and obliging. Paulette and Sao are particularly good at making cocktails. There's a laundry, evening entertainment and activities for kids. A good lobster restaurant (Lagosteira) is near by and we also enjoyed 'Hugo's tapa bar' just down the road.

Few people went topless and there was a junior manager who made it his business to frown at anyone who came through the reception area with out at least shorts and tea shirt on. Proper dress advised for dinner. Might not be everyone's cup of tea for this reason. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our selves and only regretted going all inclusive.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the road are quieter. Pool rooms face onto the bar so are only quiet after 11pm. No r...

We have just got back from a great family holiday at the Alpinus, the rooms were very spacious with great views from our balcony. We stayed on a self catering basis and only ate in the restaurant once but would concur with other reviews that the offering was pretty standard stuff. The pool was clean and everywhere seemed well maintained and the animation team provided plenty of activities poolside which the children could wander in and out of. As a bar manager I found the service at the bar painfully slow especially as most of the guests were not paying for drinks as they were all inclusive. But that aside the staff were helpful and courteous.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 401 which had two balconies and a sun terrace!

Booked for 7 days all inclusive at the Luna Alpinus in May. Our rooms were not ready when we arrived at midday (fair enough) but we were told that, although we could use the facilities in the bar/café area, we were not allowed our all inclusive bands until the restaurant opened for lunch. It was only 20 minutes! How much did they think we would drink? Our apartments were excellent; plenty of space, air conditioned and cleaned regularly. We were directly above the reception and overlooked the golf course which gave us the evening sunshine in our veranda - lovely. Food: pretty average really but probably normal for all inclusive fare. The dining room was nice but it was swamped with over 60's at lunch and dinner times and woe betide if you ventured to sit in their "designated" area. You had to be up pretty early to reserve a sunbed (my pet hate and apparently outlawed by the hotel) but the pool bar, and especially the usual barman, were top notch. Overall it was fine for a week but there were enough restaurants' nearby (one of which we caved in to) to suggest B&B would be the better option. We've been nearby at Clube Humbria before and it was a better experience.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the adjacent golf course get the evening sunshine.
