We were fortunate to stay at this hotel for 9 days in May/June.As other reviewers have said the hotel is new, as a result all the rooms are in pristine condition and cleaned daily. The hotel was well below its occupancy as a result it was quiet which suited us for a relaxing holiday. The food was excellent ( beautifully presented sweets)!. The staff are friendly and polite. We could not really fault the hotel and hope that the standards are maintained. We hope to return to find out!
It's a short walk to the beach which is so lovely to walk along to Olhos de Agua or Villamora.

This is a long overdue review. My family (2 little girls 3 & 5) stayed for three nights from 31st may . This place is brand new and got great architecture . We stayed in a apartment over looking the main road but still it got some good views. The standard is top class , very modern toiltes and a walk in ensuite from master bedroom with plenty of space. All kitchen equipments were smeg brand so the quality is bespoken.
The staff were great every one wants to make your stay pleasant ,the check in was very quick and were whisked quickly to the apartments by the buggy. The porter shows you how to operate all equipments.
We stayed half board and the breakfast Was great dinner was good with a nice spread, will be limited for choice if you are vegetarian. The staff at the restaurant were great and PAULINA who manages the dinner was exceptional and was a great example to excellent customer service. She always keep both our little girls entertained by giving them colouring stuffs so we can enjoy the meals, which was great.
The location is bit out of main towns (£19.00 from villamoura and £ 17.00 from albufuria Marina ) so if you want to be close to town may not suit if you don't drive. This is just five minutes walk from the famous flacica beach which was the best we have visited in Europe so far.
So the best five start hotel we stayed so far and the staff make it an epic stay hats off to them. It's was not crowded when we stayed there . Also must mention the great children's club they have and the staff were great they organised a party on 1st June to commerate children's day and all children enjoyed the event and made lots of friends.
Great relaxing holiday .thanks

Somebody with a very keen eye for detail has been hard at work here. The first thing they go right was appointing the Personnel Manager. Without exception, every single member of staff genuinely wants the guests to enjoy their stay here, and nothing is too much trouble. The setting is wonderfully relaxing, beautifully manicured gardens with a jogging path for those who succumb to the guilt of breakfast (enormous range of fresh and delicious food). The main pool area is large and very peaceful, with a second pool area the other side of the hotel catering for families (playground area for children etc.) The location makes for a relaxing stay, and if you feel the need to venture out, Vilamoura is just under an hour's pleasant stroll along a lovely, sandy, blue flag beach. In the opposite direction, an hour's pleasant stroll brings you to a lovely little village with a coffee shop overlooking the beach. This is a very long stretch of sandy beach!
The hotel rooms are all the same, with the exception of the view. We booked a resort view room, but chose to upgrade to pool view which was much more pleasant. The room specification is the highest we've ever experienced, and we've been fortunate enough to stay in some lovely hotels. Free WiFi throughout the hotel and a Bluetooth sound system built into your roof means that with an iPad and a Napster account you have all the music in the world in your room! The bathroom is unusual, in that it is open plan within the room. This gives a great impression of size. Dont worry if you want privacy though, there are sliding walls of very opaque glass that enclose the entire bathroom area.
We've been looking for a "bolt hole" in the sun for a number of years. We've found it!
Truly Epic.

The brand new (2013) Epic Sana is really superb. Amazing decorations, wonderful apartments, superb (arabic influenced) architecture, great gardens, friendly staff. I appreciated super helpful information per Email before our arrival, with the amazingly kind and patient Patricia.

We were there at the end of May/ beginning of June and had over all a great experience. Since they are in the Soft Opening Phase, there are still some details to be taken care of, but nothing major. Complaints are taken serious and dealt with professionally, the staff is polite, authentically kind and helpful. There is no perfect hotel, but at Epic Sana, they took our wishes and minor (!) complaints serious, which does make a difference.

We had an apartment in the residences and it was really great. A very modern design, fabulous equipped, with a lot of passion for details. Truly epic! Since it was new (I think we were among the first guests there), some minor stuff weren't working. But once told, they went out of their way to fix everything. Make sure you don't get an apartment facing the main street if you need silence during the day (construction sites ongoing). We didn't mind that, though. The apartment is also safe for toddlers.

We liked the breakfast, great food, even if it is quite adapted to the British style. But if 80% of my guests were British, I'd go for that decision too. There is still plenty of choice of amazing, fresh food besides that. At breakfast, they weren't always very well staffed. Sometimes, a coffee arrives in 25 minutes with huge apologies, but honestly, it's not the end of the world.
We did try dinner too but I would not go for an all-inclusive on that, only if you can really eat and drink in worth of 34 EUR/ person. For us, a "normal" portion will do and the money doesn't pay off in that case. At dinner, food and drinks were good and fresh, various offer, super friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. It wasn't a romantic one, considering a lot of families with kids, but it wasn't a noisy thing either. The crowd was mixed good, I'd say.

We also tried the kids club, located next to the pools in the residence area. The kids club is a small one room "house", with huge glass walls, next to the outdoor play area. More than 10 kids might be a crowd in there and it might be a challenge to entertain them if they are different ages. Lucky for us, our little boy was either alone there or with another child, so he got a lot of attention. Superb decorated, very very clean, plenty of toys, well intended, competent care-takers. They speak Portuguese and some English words, at a quite basic level. Even so, we got along good enough. They proved to master the task of playing with our kid, so that he wanted to go back by himself the next day. This says a lot.

Besides that, the resort and the location are also good. The beach is 10 minutes away and there are some nice places to eat right across the street (try them out, they are really good even if simple). A supermercado is also across the street, they have basics like food, drinks, cosmetics, beach articles... A bit pricey for Portugal, but ok.

For exploring the area, I recommend a rental car. Albufeira is a short drive away, Faro is a 30 minutes drive and generally, the area is really worth paying a visit.

Over all, we can recommend Epic Sana Algarve. They are for sure at the beginning, but they will go out of their way to offer an epic experience.

Room Tip: Make sure you don't get an apartment facing the main street if you need silence during the day...

Not too much to add to what has already been said.

Smart, stylish, clean, absolutely fantastic staff, very little to fault.

Would have given full marks for service but on the two occasions I had to contact housekeeping, I had to call twice each time, but other than that fantastic. The room was possibly the best I've ever stayed in.

Used the indoor pool and sauna a couple of times which were fantastic, but the steam room was sadly out of service.

Appears to be very little else of note in the immediate vicinity, so unless you are happy in the hotel and on the beach, would recommend a car to visit other places.

The first few reviews of this brand new hotel pretty well sum it up. Opened in the second week of March 2013, it is clear that no expense was spared in its construction and fitting out. The rooms where we stayed in the Residence are outstanding. Self catering if you want, huge beds, massive bathrooms with wonderful shower and bath, spacious lounge and a superbly equipped kitchen with fully integrated Smeg appliances. Champagne in an ice bucket with chocolate dipped strawberries; and we weren't even celebrating anything!
The hotel reception, public areas, grounds and pools are incredible and beautifully designed. A lot of care has been taken in symetrical design and first impressions may include a sense of starkness but, my goodness, it grows on you and fairly quickly draws you in.
The staff are young and enthusiastic and cannot do enough for their clients.
The outdoor pools aren't heated; but in high summer cool fresh water is all you need.
So, this hotel is very nearly faultless. However, whilst it is in almost every respect 5 star (but with surprisingly 4 star bar tariffs), the food is not up to the standard you should expect. Starters and desserts are fairly good but main courses and cheese selections are limited and not of a particularly good quality. All dining crockery is cold. It just feels a bit lazy.
But do you know what? I reckon they will iron out the food issues and when they do, there won't be a thing on the Algarve to touch them.
We loved it, despite the disappointing food and can't wait to get back and sample again what is a truly unique experience.

I have just stayed at the hotel with my two teenage sons for four nights and I can honestly say the hotel is 100% faultless. As a single Mum with 12 & 14 year old boys we have had an amazing, luxury, attentive stay, the staff are not only stunningly beautiful (sickening) but make every effort to make sure that all guests are treated in the best possible way. There are four pools with very comfortable sun loungers, the grounds are immaculately kept, stunning landscaping.
The beach is literally a five minute walk from the hotel, a very long sandy beach, you can walk for miles.
Rooms are spotless, beds are huge, showers are lovely and the balconies are large enough that they have table, chairs & sun lounger!
Will hopefully be back soon.
