I had a great holiday in Portugal last month and we stayed in the hotel Baltum. The hotel is very clean and very convenient just five minute walk from the beach which is just as well as the hotel doesn't have a pool. The rooms are a bit small as is the balcony . The hotel is very close to all amenities but unfortunately because it's on the main street it is very noisey all night so if you don't plan on partying I wouldn't go to this hotel . The restaurant attached to the hotel is very good and we found it to be cheaper than most of the of the restaurants.

Room tip: I think all the rooms are noisey as the hotel is on the main road.

Hotel is right in the centre of the old town overlooking the party street with pumping noise all night from 5pm to 5am so you wont get any sleep. Its very loud and people outside all night long shouting etc, drunk. The windows are thin. It is NOT suitable for people with children or older folk. Standard quite small rooms which are basic but adequate and clean. Friendly helpful staff fluent in english.

Room tip: Do not choose a balcony room

We just returned yesterday from this hotel having stayed there 3 times before. It is a little hotel right in the old town convenient for everything, taxi rank outside door, supermarkets nearby and 2 minutes to the centre of town and Fishermans Beach. We had a room with a balcony which I would recommend as some of the rooms without balconies are very small, it is worth paying a little bit extra and nice to sit and watch the street below where all the little markets are and watch people walking down to the beach. We enjoy our nights out although in our 60s and noise does not bother us, we are usually down there with them, but if you are the type of older person who likes to go to bed at 10 or have babies asleep it probably would be too noisy. Having said that, the noise did not go on all night, only til about 12 to 1, by the time we got back it was quiety. We had room only so cannot comment on any food, but the room was spacious and cleaned every day. There was 24 hour reception and 2 lifts (good thing as stairs are very steep) but no problems with lifts, always working. I think they have renovated some rooms since we were last there, lovely modern shower and toilet. I took a kettle but couldn't find plug socket, the lamp ones didn't fit the normal 2 point plug, probably not supposed to brew up in room, not the end of the world, at least there was a dryer in bathroom so no need to take your own. Overall a good comfortable hotel for a base to explore the old town, and there is a cafe right next door, I think it belongs to the hotel for the odd snack or drink. We will be returning in September.

Room tip: Room with balcony, lower room if older (in case lift did break down) just an extra precaution

We stayed in this hotel on New Years Eve and found it to be the best possible location, close to the bars, restaurants, town square and beach. The room was small but clean and staff were fine. Parking in the car park accross the road is a little expensive at around €20 per 24 hours but very handy and safe. For a short stay this is a good hotel!

Room tip: Rooms on one side have a balcony others have back ally view!
