We stopped here from 6th until 13th October. The hotel was recommended by a friend and it didnt disapoint. Great location two mins from the strip and only 10 mins walk to the old town. Hotel catered more for couples and older generation, entertainment which was perfect for what we wanted. Good night out round town then lovely quiet night at hotel. Pool area was uncrowded and very well kept and the hotel was spotless. Fantastic time and would definately stop here again.

I stayed here with my wife for 14 nights from the 14th sep and had a great stay we booked and traveled with Jet2. We had a one bed apartment 013 with its own sun terrace we have stayed at the Tropical sol many times since 2006 and it seems to improve every time. This time it was the 2 x samsung tvs in our apartment which i must stay is very good. Our apartment was cleaned every day except sundays and we got clean towels every time. We didnt try the breakfast but the pool bar does a great lunch and its good value. Everywhere is kept spot less we had no issues with sunbeds but i would see in high season it could be a problem. We had one small issue with our apartment and reception and management delt with it strait away and even offered us a room change but we decided to stay put. Already booked to return next year. Thanks for great stay tropical sol team

We spent our honeymoon here from 16th September for two weeks. As other reviewers have said the place is excellent. whilst it is close to the strip there was no noise from it at all. On the subject of the strip we found it tatty and run down with over priced restaurants (with the odd exception).
The old town is a better bet and worth the 20 minute walk. The only let down was British tourists who could be very rude towards the locals especially the restaurant touts. They are only trying to earn a living, we found a polite no thank you sufficed there is no need to be foul mouthed and abusive to them.

This is the fifth time we have stayed at the Tropical Sol, and it only gets better.
The rooms now have new kitchens, large flat screen tv's in the lounge area and the bedrooms.
We can not fault the cleanliness of the appartment and the hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpfull.
The location of the hotel is just a few minutes walk from the strip, but it is far enough away that you don't get any noise from the bars.
We had most of our lunches in the poolside snack bar. Nathalie and her family always make us welcome, and the amount of people who go back year after year is amazing.
The food is all freshly cooked and very good value. Highly recommended.
We are already thinking about our next visit to Portugal, which will be to the Tropical Sol.
We wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.

Room Tip: We have stayed in the studio and the one bedroom appartment. Both are very spacious. All overlook t...

I loved these apartments, lovely staff, we went bed and breakfast and this was really good. The only downside was there were never enough sunbeds in the morning. Excellent staff, cleanliness unbeatable and in a really good location. Staff so helpful even made phone calls for us. I will be returning without a doubt.

Had an amazing week here. We had a studio and it was spotless. Rooms were cleaned daily, fresh towels every other day, bed changed every other day too. The pool was beautiful and the whole place was kept immaculately. The staff were very helpful and friendly too. The snack bar by the pool does the nicest coffee and lovely food too and it's very cheap. We had breakfast a few mornings and it was all very fresh, at €5.50 per person it was pretty steep, until you see what's on offer.. Full cooked buffet breakfast, sausages, bacon, eggs, beans and fresh buttered toast. There's 3 types of cereal available too.. Coco pops, cornflakes and muesli.. Fresh croissants, scones, rolls, ham, cheese, jam, honey, marmalade, butter, milk, tea, coffee, fresh orange juice, apple juice and everything u could ask for really and it's buffet so eat and drink as much as you like for next to nothing.. Great spot!

If you fancy something from the bakery we opted for the one at the start of the strip, great value for money and everything is made in the shop, beautiful bread, croissants, salads and different cakes.. I had a honey and cinnamon muffin, €1 and delicious!

We walked to the strip every night, 5 minutes tops! Some great places on it to but keep an eye on prices.

On our 2nd last night we found the most amazing Chinese it was spotless, food could not be faulted it's called Gold Palace, just on your way to the strip pretty much just walk out the main entrance of the hotel, go right, up the short brae and it's just past the pub called Charlie's, not even 2 minutes away. The girl in the Chinese was so friendly.

If you fancy a day to the old town you have 3 options of how to get there, walk - took us 15 minutes, get the tourist train - it's €8 for 2 all day tickets and it goes around pretty much everywhere in Albuferia you want to go.. The strip, old town, the shopping centre and another random stop in between but to get value from that u really need to use it to get to and from where you're going. It stops at the blue bus stops, or get a taxi - it was around €5 so pretty good!

Villamoura and Quarteria were nice to see but personally we wouldn't go back to them Albuferia was more to our taste.. We got a bus from Albuferia to Villamoura, it was €8 one way which I thought was ridiculous! Villamoura's marina was class to see but anything to eat or drink there was a rip off. Quarteria was better priced foe everything, food, drink, clothes, and we walked from one to the other.

All in all Tropical Sol was brilliant. Great location, lovely staff, very close to the strip but so so quiet we heard nothing at all at night it was great. Couldn't recommend it enough
