We booked this hotel on a late deal...for the money we paid we were very pleased with it, it catered for our needs very well indeed. The hotel is in a good location - easy 15 mins walk from the strip (which is a nice area - lots of neon but good all round atmosphere - with families, couples & groups), walking distance to beaches and easy to get to the old town by bus, noddy train, taxi or 45 mins walk if you fancy that! Nice restaurants and bars within reach (lovely restaurant 5 second walk away!), good supermarket with everything you should need (inc. cashpoint) 5 mins walk away etc etc. The apartment was very very spacious and clean with nice balcony (we were lucky and got nice view of villas etc and small view of the sea!). The hotel has a good (English) beauty therapist on site where you can book treatments that are reasonably priced. Pool is very good and is in a nice grassed area. Hotel make you pay deposits for remote controls for air con, safe & TV but you do get them back. Hotel charged 15 euros for use of safe in room and charge 1 euro to call you a taxi. Coridoors are long and a bit dark but are no problem as automatic lighting comes on straight away. There are many trips you can take it you like such as jeep safaris, trips to Lisbon, local markets etc. We used Mega Tours and they were very good. We did our package deal with Bath Travel & Palmair and they were very good.

Me and my friends (aged between 16-18) stayed at dom pancho for one week in july. The hotel was basically good for what we paid. when we arrived at 11am they told us the room would not be ready until 1pm, so we had to make ourselves busy until then. The staff told us to leave our suitcases in a unlocked room with everyone elses cases would be, The cases where fine but would have been nice if they had the rooms ready.

The rooms where clean with a smell of disinfectant. Enough storage and kitchen was reasonable for self service, TV with music channels (on repeat) and itv. We asked for the iron one day and within a few hours the maids came into our room and took it back, we hid it the rest of the holiday so that we could actually use it.

When we stayed there was a few stag and hen do’s so it was very busy and had to get down to the pool around 9am to get a spot on the grass or a sun bed. The swimming pool was disgusting someone had been sick init through the night and it was left until mid day until someone came to sort the filters out, but other than the sick it was fine.

The night life was brilliant, the strip is a 5 minute walk. But you will not here any music from the hotel. There are a few restaurants before the strip so you don’t have to go down that far. DO NOT go to the ‘monsoon Indian tandoori buffet’ it is disgusting and looks like it’s all out of a tin. We had a few mouth full’s and left (just opposite dom pancho). The food at the bar is very nice ok value and the staff are very nice and friendly. If you do buy your own food, dont go to the supermarket across the road, if you walk half way down the main road the food is alot cheaper and the same.

This is a great hotel for the value and I was very happy and would defiantly go again and would recommended to young couples or single people, or groups of people.

firstly this hotel is not just full of boy groups and girl groups its full of all ages families, couples, friends! infact ive never seen as much a mixture! the hotel has two pools one big pool free for all and a small pool for the children which is good. there is plenty of room to sun bathe whether u get a sun bed or not just get up early or infact get a lilo thats pretty comfy. the lightings on each floor are powered by movement (obviously to save on cost) this wasnt a problem from us because it was the room were we needed the light not the hall. for the price you pay at the dom pancho its definetley worth the money. you have a kitchenette so with the euro being as it is you can save on costs by bringing food. theres a cooker, kettle, microwave hey and even the tv has itv you can even go to the beauty salon downstairs and get some treatments with the last of your euros! me and my partner really enjoyed the stay and were in our 20's we would defenitley come again. the staff were friendly as were the cleaners and for the money you pay you get more than you would from any were else!

Stayed at Dom Pancho in August this year and was very dissapointed with the hotel.
First of all we were on the top foor which isnt good when your self catering and you want to pop back to the room from the pool, in fact the corridors were so long and dark (more like a prison) my 11 year old daughter wouldnt go back to the room by herself! And with only 2 lifts in the entire hotel which were very slow it is much quicker to take the stairs, so on the plus side we kept very fit!!!!
The hotel was full of all girl/boy groups so not ideal for famillies but they were not rowdy so we were lucky there.
The entertainment (if you could call it that)was diabolical....Karoke and a parrot!!!!
The room itself was well equipped and cleaned daily but the towels are only changed once during the whole week!
Location is great for the strip but after 2 nights its very much like walking down Blackpool seafront!
The pool is ok but the grounds could do with some TLC,if you dont manage to get a sunbed there is plenty of grass to lay on but it gets very crowded. And lastly take plenty of money its very expensive...expect to pay around £70 per night for a family of four if you want a decent meal....and do try stone steak its delicious.

Having stayed at numerous hotels in Albufeira I found this hotel very average or even slightly poor compared to other 3 stars. The rooms are fairly modern and spacious considering they had a recent refurbishment. Apartment for 3 people sleeps all comfortably. The balcony is bit cramped due to table in the way and air con fan in the corner, which blows hot air in your face if on. Our room didn't have a pool view but the inland view was nethertheless ok.

The MAJOR letdown of this hotel is it's service or shall I say lack of!!! Put simply, the staff will not go a step out of their way to meet your requirements. Our towels were blood stained, and despite asking twice they still were not changed. Only when I made a complaint they acted completely dumbfound and became apologetic and changed the towels immediately. In addition they apologised for the maids forgetting to do the mid week towel change for our room. I had to call reception repeatedly to get hold of an iron and when it finally arrived the ironing board appeared to have just been bought out of a furness. The female receptionists appear very arrogant and patronising and it appeared at times they forgot who the customer was!

The communal areas of the hotel have sensors attached to lights which are extremely slow at responding so the corridors can be dark and appear dingy. The food at the pool bar is pretty decent but both food and drink is excessively priced and again service is very poor. The pool itself is fairly large but be warned you've got a fight on you hand durings peak season for a sun lounger! The lack of sun loungers is shocking!

Overall, the hotel is pretty standard, with shops, bars etc close by but I definately wouldn't go back and would prefer pay slightly more for hotel with better service.

Booked this holiday last minute so didnt expect a lot anyway . on comparison with the the year before we stayed at the paraiso de albufeira which was a four star and really posh. the dom pancho is basic but if your going self catering you wont be dissapointed .The room was the best one we have stopped in fair size kitchen ,hob ,fridge ,toaster, kettle but only a microwave size oven . The bathroom is a nice size, living room has a sofa with a pull out drawer bed so that can sleep two kids .The main bedroom was big and had a double bed which was well comfy also their is a slidy partion door between the bedroom and sitting room for a bit of privacy. The aircon was ok ,ours was knacked but was sorted by staff the same day . The pool was ok it was constantly cold but we are british so dont panzy about and dive in ,The deep end is deep 3.5 metres but there is steps at the shallow end for the lasses. Be up early for a bed round the pool but theres enough grass to roll about on if you want a lie in . 5 mins for the strip 10 for the beach . the old towns a canny walk but not to bad only bad thing theres no kids club so you have to entertain the kids

Me and 3 mates booked this hotel in June, and it looked great but it really was amazing accomodation. We were lucky enough to have one of the bungalows which was round the back behind the pool, and it was so big! There were 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, and a very comfortable kitchen and living area space with everything you needed. We only stayed for 4 days but i can hoenstly say it was probably one of the better holidays we'd been on. Dom Pancho was only a 5-10 min walk to the strip, and there were bars, restaurants, and a supermarket all about 200 yards away. Every morning we went to Rumours bar for our breakfast which was always good and this bar is only just up the road from the hotel. The main strip is busy but when we went there was alot of portugese about over the weekend so it was even busier. But to sum it up i would definetly go back to the Dom Pancho, its ideal for all sorts of groups from families, to just couples, all the way through to the younger generation looking to club it up!
