Stayed at this hotel in August 2012, great location near to Fisherman's Beach & the 'Old Town' of Albufeira. Fantastic views overlooking the beach/sea. Stayed self-catering so can't comment on the food in the restaurant but the cake shop next door is a 'must' visit with fabulous cakes on offer!

Room Tip: Sea view a must!

This is a really good hotel, situated about 15 mins stroll to the old town and about 10 mins to the strip in the new town, (but unless you're under 30 y/o or up for a mega drinking session I'd avoid the new town, bit like an 18 - 30's free for all).

The hotel has great facilities, gym, great pool, plenty of sunbeds (however folk do queue up for them from 09:00 hrs, which is a bit sad), tennis and squash, (they are payable locally but at 6 euros for the hour, it's not expensive and that includes bats and balls, the gym is 3 euros a day).

The hotel also has WiFi charged at 7 euros per week, however the WiFi doesn't offer complete coverage, as we found that we couldn't get a signal in our room.

The rooms are well equipped with excellent air conditioning and looking around the hotel, there are only a few "bum" rooms, (unfortunately we got one of them, (ROOM 106)). I wouldn't have liked to be in one of the 4 basements rooms either.

The land based rooms don't much noise from the road, we certainly weren't inconvenienced by our roadside room.

The hotel is immaculate and the maid service is exceptional, they work really hard to keep the place tidy and clean.

The service from reception is OUTSTANDING, issues dealt with, within minutes and nothing was too much bother, really, really impressed by what was exceptional service.

Are there any downsides, ONLY the Shower in room 106, we didn't get any water pressure or hot water most nights from 18:30 - 20:00 hrs, as I guess this is when most folk get ready to go out for the evening. It was disappointing, but it only impacted badly one night, when we RAN OUT of water altogether. Maintenance were up and sorted the problem within 4 minutes of the call to reception.

I really can't fault this hotel overall, it's perfectly located with a massive supermarket next door, if you want a quick snack, you've KFC and McDonalds 60 seconds walk, although the POOLSIDE snackbar is reasonably priced and offers a great range of food and again the service is exceptional.

I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Well done all the staff at Brisa Sol, you've got a great business model, keep it up :-))

Room Tip: avoid the basement rooms plus room 106 as it's the furthest away from the reception area and you get poor water power during peak times.

stayed at the Brisa Sol for 10 days from 3rd Aug. This is certainly not a 4 star hotel !! Found most staff apart from 2 at the pool bar to be sullen and most unhelpful !!! Arrived at Hotel to be met by a receptionist who should be sent on a customer service course .Room was clean but seemed to be an add on at the back of the hotel .... no balcony !! no views ...Breakfast is truly shocking and watching adults queuing at a door to the pool area a full hour b4 it opens at 9 was quite embarrassing !! then watching the stampede to their favourite spot throwing kids behind them !!! Pool area bins were overflowing and really need to be emptied on a regular basis .we will certainly not return !!! Albufeira itself was fine , old town was lovely and great for restaurants. Found a great wee bar at the bottom of the hill ...The Geordie Viking .... Carlos is a great host and it,s a great place to meet other people ....and he,s not shy handing you a free drink or six !!! lol... Give the Brisa Sol a miss if you want to enjoy ur trip to Portugal !! Want a quality holiday ?? go to Turkey !!

The hotel itself is in a fantastic location, a short walk to the beach and square. The rooms were very clean and the staff very helpful. The only downside was the rushing for sunbeds on a morning and the walls been paper thin. On the whole a lovely holiday.

We stayed at the brisa sol for 10 days. We payed quite a lot to go self catering and was really disappointed with the room, nothing like the pictures and you certainly didnt have enough room to cook. When asked reception if we could at least change to a pool view room they couldn't have been less helpful!
The hotel room was very basic but it was clean and the pool area was nice, the snack bar was nice and the staff there were very helpful especially rowain.
The location was great, 10min walk to the old town and around 15-20 to the new strip. The old town is lovely, lots of nice restaurants.
Recommend going to visit zoo marine, loved it there. If you we're going to book any excursions it's a lot cheaper to book through a local shop (there's one two minutes up the road) rather than thomsons.
If you don't mind basic then this hotel is ideal, will certainly not be going back myself.
