Reviewed October 21, 2012

stayed here 11th October for 7 nights with two friends. I would definately recommend the Brisa Sol. we had a lovely time everything about the hotel was perfect. Rooms were cleaned daily, we did B&B and the breakfast was really good with plenty of choices.Staff were really nice and helpful. The cake shop/restaurant adjoining it is fabulous I have never seen so many cakes!! It's ideally situated just a 10 min walk down to the Old Town and you can get the escalator down to the town and even better - back up!! There is also the Noddy train which runs every 40mins from outside the cake shop to the Strip and the Old Town it runs until 10.30. We look forward to coming back soon. Ignore comments on cold food when 200 HA! nowhere near!! linedancers with cloud 9 were there we were there too and had no problem whatsoever, our breakfasts were piping hot and plentyful. No complaints from us. Thanks Brisa Sol

Room Tip: east side and over looking pool with a side sea view,

Me and the wife have had an amazing stay at the Brisa Sol! The staff can't do enough for you and there so polite. I would recommend this hotel to any one coming to Portugal. Definitely booking again. It'd also the perfect location for the strip and old town only 5 minutes walk away for both.

Overall hotel good myself and my wife were in a studio apartment overlooking the pool 2nd floor good views of pool and towards the sea this was our first visit to Albufeira
We are in our sixtys and found the distance to the beach and the old town farther away than we thought some 15 mins walk which was ok going down but quite a pull comeing back up, the little train was a god send to us although costing us aprox 60 euros over the holidays we liked the old town and the beach
Visited Vilamura by local bus which was easy and the day excursion to Western wonders booked through Thompsons was excelent
We were half board and the let down for us which spoils this hotel is the evening meal very liitle choice and in general the food was cold which we pointed out to the Thompson rep and the hotel managment and to top this on the Tuesday we went down for our evening meal at 7 30 pm the time that the resturant opened to find a complete mess dirty plates pilled allover very liitle food left and this was very cold
What had happened was that a party of 200 Country and Western people known as cloud 9 had booked a week at the hotel and were told they would eat at 6.30pm hence the mess no extra staff to cope with this amount of people major complaints to the Thompson rep who also spoke to the managment as did the main person from Cloud 9
The next night more food, more staff and senior hotel managment there to arrange things which was better but still cold food as the chefs could not cope with getting fresh food out fast enough
To sum up hotel good badly let down by the lack of staff and the resturant

Room Tip: Pay for a pool view room as others overlook main road or a car park and ask for a high floor for goo...

This was our first time in Albufeira and booked this accomodation based on location and trip advisors reviews. We were not disappointed. We travelled as a family which included our two grandchildren aged 2 years and 15 years old and all ages thoroughly enjoyed our stay.We were given three adjoining one bedroom apartments, not with pool views and on level -1 but these were huge apartments with very large balconies and had the sun for most of the day. We enjoyed the pool area and had lunch on a couple of occasions from the pool snack bar.Although we hired a car for the week it was easy to get around and our grandaughter loved going on the Noddy train. Would not hesitate to recommend to others and would be very happy to return in the future.

Room Tip: For spacious rooms and large sunny balconies go for rooms 001-007

hotel very good, staff could not do enough for you. we were in a studio facing the pool room adequate but the kitchen area very small not enough room did have a microwave kettle toaster and hop good for self catering needs plus a tv and you didnt have to pay for it there was heating and aircon. pool very nice but as this was dec not sunbathing weather but warm enough to walk round in shorts an tshirts cold at night would recomend if you go in dec take your winter coat. there was an indoor pool which was excellent and lovely and warm but they say you had to wear a swimming cap i never did nor did i get told to, we also paid for the spa which cost 3 euro each for the day well worth the money. bar in hotel nice and bar man informative and helpfull. if you get on the train outside the hotel this takes you into the heart of albuferia only found 3 bars open on the strip but it was a change. there is mc donalds and kfc facing which was very handy as we could not find any restaurants open may be due to time of year. attached to hotel was a cake shop which was always busy but we never went and closed late afternoon. if you walk into the old town down the escalators on the beach front there was a few places to eat in the square ate a few times here and was very nice also there is a few gift shops here as well. if you like collecting shells then this beach is a must spent many hours collecting the very large shells. there is a supermarket at the side which is very large and reasonable you could litterally buy everything here even gifts.
for exursions go right at the hotel and keep walking trhen you will the shop we went to seville for the day which was excellent. not much to do at night due to the area being very quiet but not an issue as this was a very relaxing holiday. one thing i will say it was my birthday while we were there and they gave me a card and bottle of bubbly a very nice touch.
would i go back to this hotel yes but would go in season.

Room Tip: pay for a room facing the pool and sea as the others are facing the busy main road and the pool veiw...

Just back from a long weekend at the Brisa Sol. First impressions - we were disappointed with the room - a studio directly overlooking the pool, on the lower level ground floor (-2). If I'd been staying in this room 20 years ago I would have been satisfied with the standard; but it really was dated and needed refurbishment. There were two cheap hard twin beds pushed together (very uncomfortable) and no headboard. Bedding and towels looked old and a bit stained. Old style portable TV (but with some English channels including BBC1) - microwave functional but old looking. Bathroom old, tiles needed grouting , floor looked stained and old. (Get the theme? – old!). There was an (old style) safe in the room which could be hired for a small charge/deposit, we felt this was important to use due to the ground floor location. Definitely not 4 star standard (3 at the most). So that's the down side. Not withstanding all this, we had an enjoyable weekend. It was good to be so near the pool and there were plenty of sunbeds, so no mad rush to put towels out on sunloungers early in the morning for a change. We also had a lovely large terrace leading out to the pool area with two chairs and a table (remarkably about the newest looking items compared with the room decor), and it was nice to eat outside a couple of times. The location is very convenient for local shops/supermarkets and there is a tourist tram-train which stops just outside the hotel and gives easy access to the beach, restaurants, resort shops etc for €3.50 each for an all-day ticket. Breakfast (Included in our package) was a reasonable standard and buffet style. I think we paid quite a lot for the weekend (Jet 2 holidays) and I’m not sure we got good value compared to other hotels we’ve stayed at with nicer and more modern rooms; however the place does have a certain charm and if they refurbish it sooner rather than later – I’d like to give it another try.

Room Tip: Ask for one which has been refurbished!
