We have stayed here 3 times now for short all inclusive breaks around this time of year. Hotel is nice, has great views from the pool and restaurant areas. The rooms are basic...all the rooms have twin beds rather than one double, there is a mini kitchen area and a tv (could only get 4 channels two which were in German and two Portuguse but have been able to get bbc news previously in English.) bathrooms are fine, balconies are small but nice views. We did email asking to be in block A or D, didn't have a reply and was put in block B, so don't think they check emails. The view from the rooms we've stopped in have all been good (had rooms in A B and D blocks. One time we did get put in a ground floor room which smelt really strongly of smoke and lights weren't working but asked to move rooms and they switched us to a higher floor room that day.
Food was pretty good. Had plenty of choice for dinners something different every day. Lunches were fairly similar daily but were nice. Breakfasts alternated between sausages, scrambled eggs and mushrooms to bacon and fried egg every other day, along with usual cereals and pastries.
Check in is 2pm, if you get there before you can check in but leave your luggage in the storage room in reception and still use the other hotel facilities (pools and restaurant etc) check out is midday.
Restaurant and bar staff are friendly and helpful. Reception staff aren't the friendliest though. Some people have said about the reception having a bad smell, never noticed it before but it did have a bit of a nasty smell sometimes but not constantly...on site hotel shop is expensive and not open long but ok for basics.
The ticket shop up the hill is best for excursions (someone's mentioned it in a previous review) as it is cheaper than stuff from the hotel and picks you up and drops you off at chilli peppers next door to the hotel. Hotel advertised a trip to Lisbon for €38 per person and the ticket shop was only €20.

We were here for a week half board in January and stayed in Block D which is pretty central to the complex. You do have to pay 10 Euros for your key at check in but you get it back when you check out. We had to hang around for our room when we arrived as it wouldn't be ready till 2pm but we did get in just after 2. Our room was sufficient for us the only problem was we thought there was not enough lighting (they only had 2 table lamps in the bedroom). The food is virtually the same each day/night but not bad.The lifts are tiny only fit 2 people with suitcases.
There is entertainment but we thought it was ok.
This hotel is very =close to the beach and good views from the dining room or even the outdoor swimming pool.

I have 1 brilliant tip for people who like excursions:
Go to "Ticket Shop" there is 1 just up the road from this hotel if you turn left from the hotel. They do virtually the same excursions as your holiday rep but cheaper. We actually went on 3 and saved 26 Euros where as if we'd booked through our holiday rep we would have only done 2.
We enjoyed our trips and got picked up/dropped off outside "Chilli Peppers" restaurant which is next door to the hotel. There are about 4 Ticket shops in Alburferia alone.

Having read reviews on this hotel I was sceptical my advise ignore the bad the hotel was clean comfortable and brilliantly location wise with the beach on the doorstep the old town 20 min walk along the beach and the strip only 5 mins away the food was plentiful and a good choice staff were all friendly helpful only downside was the feeble attempt at entertainment but it is January but for the price I could not get any better and would def go back in the warmer months

Auramar is a huge resort with 4 different sections (A-D).
We have been in the B.
When we arrived it was impressive, the resort and area looks
gorgeous and well maintained. The room was a bit shocking in the first
day. Very oldish looking inside wall paint faint yellowish huge dark brown curtains hardly working balcony door, safe in pieces. But the room and the bathroom was clean. There was air condition in the room and we used it some days, even in this late time of the year some days was too hot.
So air conditioner was really really use full. Bed was excellent not used up like in
many hotels. We got clean towels in every 2nd day.
Food was good, what I was missing in the breakfast the vegetables (tomato, pepper, onion etc) only fruits for breakfast that time we`ve been there.
Evening meals 2nd best I have ever had in hotels. Sometimes pork and beef was under cooked, but we had every night plenty options to choose.
Hotel had free shuttle bus to Albufeira 3 times a day what is great.
The pool was just amazing one end probably 4 or 5 meters deep !!!
In that time (October) was a bit cold but good size and very clean I used it every day.
I can say we had a great holiday there we just ignored the looking of the room.
We had a great sleep with aircon, good food in a gorgeous environment and coastline is just amazing. All this half board week only for £300 with airport transport and everything.
Going back Portugal again but not Albufeira maybe Lagos next time.

Room Tip: The best section in balcony view is C and D.

We stayed at Auramar for 7 nights in January .

At check in we were asked for €10 deposit for the room key. The lobby had the smell of old socks, it is the only place where you can get free WiFi. The lift could get three people in max. It was overloaded when four people got in.

Our room was clean. Very dated and could have done with a touch up but cannot complain for the price. For my wife birthday we were given a bottle of complimentary champagne in our room.Nice surprise.

The food was good.I was expecting worse.

The F&B staff were very helpful (Vladimir, Patricia). I could not say the same about Reception staff. Rude, unhelpful, unprofesional.

The biggest positive is the location. Awesome views, close to the beach.

To summarize average hotel but for the price you cannot complain much.
