After reading negative comments about this block of apartments I was more than pleasantly surprised. The internal decor was dated, but it was very clean which was MY priority. Large lounge, decent kitchen and 2 toilets, one bathroom. Cooker and micro/oven excellent. Maid came daily and the reception staff were fine. I didnt like paying for the tv remote. It was exceptional value for money in November having paid five times more for much worse places. The location was fine in nice surrounding gardens. A small hill to walk back to apts, but albufeira is hills. The Jardim disco was plenty lively full of youngsters and locals.. The bar was quieter and the waiter Costas was very friendly and informative.

I've been to the Algarve 5 times before. I am have been to 35 countries and had accommodation from 5* plus to 3* and I honestly cant be negative abou`t Jardim I, it was very clean and very good value.

Before travelling, I couldn't understand what was going on with Jardim I, Jardim II & what we booked: Albufeira Jardim Turisticos Apartments (this turned out to be Jardim I, & it's just a bit closer to the Old Town!)

Room fine, if a little tired. Take the covers off the settee, which are twin beds & pull round to make a permanent double bed. There's only a heater for hot water, so plan your showers! Pool area nice & very spacious. Bloke said that the beer in the bar was nicer than every where else, food very good quality.

The apartments stretch out nicely over the hillside & then you have a pleasent 10min walk down through narrow streets & find yourself in the modern main square of the Old Town with lots of shops & boutiques. Carry on along & you hit the soft sandy beach (with no loungers!)

It's all very nice, clean & a cut above what we were expecting.
Plenty of nice restaurants, including Cabana Fresco overlooking the beach & Asian fusion at Za Za's in the square. Also spent a few late nights at the 'Rock Cafe' who have a great resident live band!
Didn't venture up to 'The Strip' as enough to occupy us in the Old Town and we were only there 5 nights (not enough Leave left for a longer break unfortunately!)

Weather was surprisingly good, sunny throughout our stay & about 26 during the day -got a proper tan! Pretty cool at night at this time of year -you will need a woolley, but consequently.., no mozzies!
Taxis and buses are a breeze and they even have a Noddy Train (always a plus eh?!)
In summary, I would definitely go back, but maybe a tad earlier, say Sept/Oct.

Like others before me I was a little wary of the hotel due to some of the reviews, however, I am delighted to say our experience was entirely positive. Reception were very welcoming, we had a 2 bedroomed apartment which was very spacious with a lovely balcony (great views) and 2 toilets (1 with bathroom). The room was very clean with daily maid service.

The down side: no kettle and heating water for a drink was tricky as the hotplate was not very effective. We resorted to buying 2 mugs from a Charity Shop we found and heating water in the microwave. In defense of the hotel we did not complain so they probably don't know the cooker is rubbish.

The pool was lovely although a little too cold for me. The sunbeds were not brilliant a lot were broken and cracked. You needed to pay for the matresses but not too bad.

The restaurnantt area was very good, during our stay we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at various times (not all each day). we found every meal we had to be very good and reasonable.

All in all this was a great place to stay. I would recommned it and also be happy to stay again.

We booked 5 nights at this property at the last minute, after the hotel we originally wanted was full. We found the apartments to be basic in furnishings, but clean and tidy. We booked a studio and on arrival were concerned that there appeared to be no bed sheets for the 2 sofa beds, just woolly blankets in the cupboard. After speaking to reception we found that we only had to remove the sofabed covers to reveal made up bedsheets underneath. The apartments are quite dark inside and could do with more natural light and better lighting in the bathroom (putting on makeup under the strip light was a nightmare). Also some of the lights in the apartment didn't work but as we only used it as a base to sleep we didn't bother complaining. Didn't use any of the cooking facilities or utensils as we ate out so can't comment on those as didn't even investigate them. If you are looking for a cheap base this fits the bill. The pool and pool area was clean and pleasant with lovely sea views. The apartments are up quite a steep hill but anyone with a reasonable fitness level shouldn't find it that bad, we were in block A10 right at the top of the complex and didn't really get out of breath, although there are quite a lot of steps to get up there. Overrall had an excellent holiday and for what we paid to stay in the apartments was perfectly happy with them.
