We have now been to this hotel 2 years running and we love it! The staff could not be more helpful or accomodating, the restaurants are all lovely and the sunbeds by the pools/on the grass are just so comfortable!
It is great for families (quite a few families there but somehow you rarely hear the children?), great kids club in main season and a great play area, pool and splash pool for them, or as an escape from family life for a few days, like we do!
The rooms are immaculate - we book the cheapest room (which are still really lovely and spacious, just less of a view), then if availability allows we upgrade to a bi level suite at a cheaper rate than pre booking it, with a bit of negotiating. You are taking a chance on availability but when we go in mid september it's been no problem. And the beds....the best sleep I get all year! Lovely toiletries aswell.
The resort is vast - I still loose my bearings around the place - with lots of cobbled paths and steps up to places. No problems for buggies but may not be suitable for anyone who has problems with walking distances/uneven ground/steps etc. Lots of restaurants, so you dont get bored with the food, but whilst some are at the centre of the resort, some are spread out around the edges of the resort. Starwood Preferred guests got discounts at some of the restaurants so remember to take your SPG members card!
For a relaxing start to the evening, the cliff top champagne bar is gorgeous, especially the Bloody Marys! It's very pretty when it gets dark and lit with candles.
The beach is great with plenty of sunbeds - not quite as comfortable as the pool ones due to being on the beach, but nice enough. The sea is very choppy with a very strong current - I wouldn't let my kids swim in it but fine for adults if they can swim!
However, the beach is reached by a lift but still quite a long stretch of deck boards and steps to get to it. Not bad on the way there but not the easiest getting back.
Overall though, this is a little bit of Heaven. I relax as soon as I walk through the doors - the staff are so chilled out whilst being very efficient. We just absolutely adore the place! Can't wait to get back!
