Tucked away in a street in the area of the old town Rossio. This place is a gem. Fantastic fresh fish with traditional potatoes and tomato and onion salad who needs anything more!

This is where you mix with the locals, they might not be eating every night in the restaurant but they gather on the benches in the evening and chat away. Don't expect a flash restaurant, there is no wine list, the waiter will just ask you what you like then recommend a bottle and tell you the price. Really good wines cost 11 euros, in other places you pay 17 euros for the same wine.

The mixed fish meal consists on about 5 different fish served to you over the evening. The seafood pate for starters is so tasty and as for the pancakes......absolute heaven.

Don't go looking for this restaurant in the day, you won't find it. It is only open in the evening

We were told about this Restaurant by our Rep at the Hotel, think she is regretting now as its not her own little secret anymore bless her. We got a Taxi from Sao Rafael as we would never of found it and what an amazing place. Rui who owns the Restaurant was a super host, when we asked if they had a Wine List he replied "I am the Wine List" and he recommended a lovely Green Wine which we drank quite a few bottles! The food did not disappoint, starter was to die for, Homemade Pate delicious and it just got better and better, the Fish just kept on coming, Squid, Salmon, Golden Bream to name a few served with lovely salad and potatoes. The desserts are well worth a try if you have room of course 3 of us had Rui's Mums recipe Creme Caramel whilst the other had Crepes set alight with Orange Liqueur Mmmmmmmm. The night was amazing and very cheap, would definately say give this family run restaurant a go you will not be disappointed.

This is a relatively new restaurant located in what used to be a local bar. It still has a local feel and has quite basic decor. There are no menus, only a blackboard offering fish, chicken or meat. There are a few tables outside in a pleasant location
The starter consists of home made fish pate, bread and olives which were delicious. We were then served with potatoes and a salad of peppers, green beans etc. The owner then brought out a plate of delicious grilled salmon and baby squid. This was the followed by plate after plate of different fresh fish. The total cost with wine 37 euro. This was the best meal we had in 10 days and we would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant

If you like to taste your fish and not have it covered in suaces, breadcrumbs or batter, then try this place. Small and freindly with excellent service, but the star is the food, as it should be. Very good value too. House white wine only €10 so not a holiday rip off either. Try this place before it gets to be THE place to eat, as it surely will.

I found this place trawling the trip advisor forums looking for traditional less touristy places to eat. We were so pleased we came. The food was lovely, very good value, we paid 44 euros for a meal for two which included bread, olives and fresh homemade pate to start, more fresh fish than we could eat. They just kept bringing it out, squid, salmon, sea bream, bass, mackerel. Served with algarvian potatoes (no chips served here!) and a delicious tomato, pepper and onion salad. We also had desserts and a bottle of wine. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for good honest local food.
