We had the tasting menu for lunch, it was nice but certainly not up to 2 star Michelin level. The wind blew water all over my dress and on the table, the staff made no attempt to remove this and change them, the training staff were I must say though doing their best. Lunch for 4 persons in the range of Euros 700.

“Family restaurant with great food”
Reviewed May 3, 2014

We always make a point of visiting Casa Velha when we are in Alburfeira as the food is amazing and it has a lovely family run restaurant feel to it. The restaurant looks great and the food is really nice too and great value. The service is second to none and nothing is too much trouble for them. Well worth a try.

“Reliable Portuguese dishes”
Reviewed March 27, 2014

The meals are well prepared and priced, the service is good. It's all you want in a restaurant. Try the roast rabbit, not found everywhere, and very nicely presented. One caveat: the adjacent karaoke bar, owned by the same family, starts up at 9pm and (lacking a door between dining and bar rooms) is loud enough to interfere with your meal.

“Awesome authentic menu”
Reviewed March 19, 2014

This restaurant was pretty much opposite our hotel and was busy every night we passed, both mix of local people and fellow holiday makers which is always a good sign! The menu is awesome, we had french onion soup to start which was so filling and tasty, followed by fillet and Portugese style steaks which we struggled to finish the cut was so generous. Very reasonably priced, we were going to visit again before our stay ended but just couldnt fit it in, lovely staff and for an authentic Portugese dining experience definately worth a visit.

“Lovely little place”
Reviewed March 17, 2014

Busy little family run restaurant with some of the best food I had on my holiday. Steaks are gorgeous (especially Steak Portuguesa served wrapped in salty ham on a bed of crispy potato with a rich wine sauce). Onion soup to start comes highly recommended (served with a bubbly crust of cheese on top), good wine and great portions. Ask for your steak well done if you want anything less than rare though. House wine plus 2 courses 25/30 euro each. Well worth a visit but gets very busy even at non peak season times!
