We discovered this place by accident towards the end of our 2 weeks on the Algarve and couldn't believe the value for money deal on the Tourist menu! 3 courses, a carafe of wine and a tot of port for 7.50 euros is hard to beat anywhere and the food was freshly cooked, nicely presented and served by a very pleasant waitress who went out of her way to ensure we were well looked after.Quite brilliant and will certainly be returning on my next Algarve visit. The A La Carte menu is also very competitively priced and their Sea Bass is to die for!

We ate here on the first night of the three night visit to Olhos de Agua. We plumped for the "special" menu which consisted of bread basket (or garlic bread), a choice of about 7 mains which are served with chips, potatoes or rice & salad or veg. A carafe of local wine - red, white or rose. Then a homemade dessert or fresh fruit, coffee and a small port.....all for 7.50 Euros!!! (Think this goes up to 9.50 in peak season. The meal was absolutely GORGEOUS!! The portions were huge! We were given olives and sardine pate with the bread basket too.
We ate elsewhere on the following night and although good it certainly wasn't as nice as Adega do Ze so we returned on the last night. We pushed the boat out and ordered a starter of garlic prawns (just the one portion). It was served sizzling in a terracotta dish containing approximately 14 huge prawns. It cost 11 euros and was delicious.
The service was excellent and although the resort was very quiet during our visit we noticed that the restaurant was always busy.
Highly recommended for value, service, quality and authenticity.

Don't let the outside appearance put you off! Just go inside for a real Portugese restaurant. The staff are very friendly and work extremely hard. The food is excellent value for money. It is cooked to order from fresh not defrosted,as is the case in other restaurants.Fish dishes are very good.We don't know how they make any profit at all from the tourist menu at 7.50 euros, which consists of starter, main course, dessert, coffee and drink/wine!
This restaurant is the one used by the locals, which surely says it all!
