“Great hotel, beautiful layout.”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

Just spent 4 days in this hotel and it is a wee gem in The Algarve, we having been holidaying in and around the Albufeira area for over 10 years and I.m glad to be going back to this hotel in the Autumn. The rooms are so clean and well laid out with large balcony area with your own private sun loungers, warm friendly staff, the pool area is laid out really well and the grounds and garden areas are beautiful and well maintained. There is a small pool area with it's own water slides like a mini fun park for the kids..super addition.Free football pitch shop and restaurants throughout the village grounds which are lovely to walk through on your way down to beach.
One small criticism is there is no Wi-Fi in the main hotel and most people have to go down to bar/ restaurant in the village grounds to get a connection of sorts which isn't hat strong, apart from that we are going back and can't wait.

Myself and my wide and our 15 month old Son stayed for a week in may.We found the location of the hotel good, it's 15 min walk to the strip or 10 mins in a taxi to the old town, about €8,it costs 50cents to get reception to call one.we found the old town much nicer with nice restaurants. The rooms in hotel were huge with everything you need for self catering, the only complaint I have we're the beds were rock hard and uncomfortable, the rooms were cleaned 5 of the 7days we were there. The entertainment at night was ok but not really generated to the younger people. All the staff were very friendly and I'd have no problem returning again.

Just returned from Alfagar II having spent 2 wonderful weeks there (11th-25th May). We (2 Adults & 2 kids, 4 &2) all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We upgraded to a superior seaview 1 bed apartment on arrival and it was well worth the money. Our apartment was on the top floor, was very spacious and well equipped. The complex is spotless, the cleaning staff could be seen each morning working away. There are several pools all of which we enjoyed even though they were a bit cold but they did warm up towards the end of our 2nd week (we stayed 11th - 25th May). There are a good few steps to the beach, but thankfully it was well worth it as the beach was lovely. We didn't spend much time in the new town but did venture to the Old town and found very tasty restaurants at the beachfront. The main square was annoying with all the restaurants competing to get you in their doors. Olhos d'Agua was beautiful and very chilled, we'd highly recommend it. Zoomarine is also well worth a trip, it's very organized and we found it reasonably priced. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are already planning our return trip.

Room Tip: Upgrade to superior seaview. Pools can be cold in May so bring wetsuits for kids.

We recently stayed here for a week and were very impressed with the apartments and the whole complex. The apartment was bright and spacious, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a family of four. The only small negative was the hardness of the beds! There was no noise disturbance and the cleaning staff keep the place spotless. We had mixed weather for the first few days of our stay so the indoor pool was a great bonus as the outdoor pools were cold for young kids (that didn't stop them from trying them out)! I thought the grounds of the whole Alfagar complex were beautiful, lovely green areas and flowers and spectacular views from the cliff side walk to the beach. The selection of outdoor pools was great as you could vary it every day -we found the one near the Alfagar vilage bar great as it was sheltered on breezy days. The kids loved the playgrounds, an indoor play area/games room in the main aparthotel part would be a bonus. We were self catering so i can't comment on the buffet food at the hotel but the bar food at the alfagar village bar was good and reasonably priced, service sometimes a bit slow as v busy but staff welcoming and polite.
We used Yellowfish transfers from the airport -great convenient service. Oura and The Strip with lots of bars and resturants was a 20 min walk and we took tourist train or taxi into Old Town a couple of times -would reccommend Locanda dei Segretti for nice italian food in Old Town.
This is a great choice if you want a large family -friendly complex near a fab beach and away from the hustle of Albufeira town. My only reccommendations for these apartments would be to provide tourist info in the rooms and comfier beds!

Room Tip: We had a standard garden view on 1st floor -lovely room overlooking pools that got sun in the mornin...

My family and I stayed here for 6 nights, we rented one bedroom apartment, which was fantastic! With a balcony and wonderful view of the sea. Kitchen was fully equipped, rooms were great size and had everything you would need to have a relaxing holiday. On a TV, there is a channel that shows about all the fun stuff you can do while you are staying here. There is plenty of leaflets near the reception to pick up and decide what to do on your holiday, if you want to. You can most of the tickets at the reception as well. The staff was incredibly helpful, explained everything on our arrival, gave a map of this hotel village and the Albufeira town as well, answered all our questions. They update weather forecast daily and post it on a notice board near reception for all of the people to see what weather is expected for the following week, which I found very helpful as we planned to go to a water slide park.
We were cooking in our apartment as we took the self-catering option. The greatest thing was a mini-market that is on the premises on this hotel village, 1 min away from the hotel and is open 12 hours a day daily! You can get almost everything from there and prices are same as in a supermarket.
The cleanliness was great. We did not even notice when people were cleaning but everything was cleaned for the next day. The hotel is a bit far away from the Albufeira town centre, but going for a walk is great distance. Also, it has its private pathway to get to the beach.
If you are planning to go to Portugal for a relaxing and fun holiday, I would definitely recommend this hotel, as it is not expensive and it feels luxurious. Value for money. My family and I had a wonderful holiday.

This is a really nice, clean, relaxing, friendly place with a very good atmosphere. The reception we received was very warm and friendly and our room was well equipped and large with a great view of the pool and of the sea. The pool itself is great and unfortunately we didnt get to use it much as the weather wasnt great. The hotel is about a 15/20 minute walk or 5 euro taxi ride from what is referred to as "The Strip". This is full of bars and restaurants. Furthermore, the hotel is a 10 euro taxi ride from the old town which is very lively and has an excellent selection of restaurants/bars. The bar and small restaurant on the Alfagar complex are also really nice. So if you want a relaxing place that is near the action, then look no further. There were however a few small annoying things: First you have to pay to get a television remote control. I never experienced this before and found it a bit cheap. Second, you have to pay for a lock for the safe in your room. Again, cheap. Third, each time the reception calls you a taxi, you have to pay 50 cent. Again, never experienced this before and found it a bit annoying when you are giving the hotel/taxi business. Fourth, the beds are small and hard and a bit uncomfortable. But overall despite these few issues, it is a great place and I would thoroughly recommend.

Room Tip: Get a sea view room

we stayed in these apartments in early October last year as two adults and a four year old girl and have to say they are brilliant
lovely clean spacious apartments, with good sized kitchen and everything you need for self catering.ours overlooked the football pitch and we didn't hear any noise at all whilst there.
reception were excellent,20 minute to 30 minute walk to the strip or to olhos d'agua the other way and the apartments run a cheap shuttle to albufeira which we used several times
great pools and slides for the kids, great kids club(which from other reviews may be no more) and the beach is down some steps at the back of the complex which we all managed easily.lovely beach too with a nice bar/restaurant, although sunbeds are quite expensive
we ate an evening meal once at the apartments ,quite expensive but really nice buffet food.when we return to the Algarve it will be the first place we look at,and if the price is right we will be back.brilliant holiday!!!!!!!!!
