“Great place, not to be missed”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2013

This was our 3rd time in Portugal and our 3rd visit to this restaurant. It really is excellent. It can be very busy at times although we only had to wait around 15 mins for a table as there was only the 2 of us, however larger groups had a much longer wait. The food is amazing and cannot be faulted and reasonably priced. Location wise it might be hard to find unless like us you happen to walk past it. Its placed between the old and new towns.

We went one day and it was really busy, having small child was advised to book because we would be waiting overan hour and that's what we did. When we went we could not believe how clean it was waiters very friendly and food was out of this world,a bit exspensive but worth it

“Feels a bit more upmarket than the rest”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2013 via mobile

We visited this restaurant on recommendation from a friend. It's hidden away from all the hustle and bustle, almost in the middle, of both the new town and old town restaurants. It has a bit of an old world feel and seem to be a family run enterprise. They seemed to specialise in seafood, which wouldn't be my thing. However there were several other options available. It's a bit more upmarket than most of the touristy restaurants, we dined early evening as we had the 3 kiddies, but as we were leaving (approx 7.45pm) the place was full. I'm guessing a reservation would be advisable. Would definatley consider a return visit if we return to Abf.

“Huge disappointment”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2013

This restaurant was recommended by a friend of mine and I had high hopes but I found the childrens menu dreadful through lack of choice ,when my wife asked if they could do chicken kebabs for children they refused so we had to buy an adult meal for them .I found service very poor and my meal to be sparse and bland (tuna steak). We were charged for 7 portions of bread even though there was only two baskets and it is a poor show to have things like butter and sadine paste charged on the bill .Overall I found poor service poor food and way overpriced , but maybe it was just a one off experience because the place was nearly full so they must be doing something right I just didn't see what.
