We were in portugal for 5 days in August, staying in Vila Petra. One evening I decided to go on trip advisor and look for nice restaurants for us to eat in. I read the reviews and knew it was only a 5 minute walk from where we were staying. We were a bit hesitant at first. Don't be put off by the look of the place. we got a seat outside. It was quite busy and when we first went in we noticed some local Portuguese eating in there so we knew it had to be good. Once seated we were shown the menu. For three of us, we got bread, a starter each (soup or salad), a main, a dessert and we each ordered a glass of wine and water. They brought us out a large jug of wine! And we werent even charged for the water! the white wine was delicious! For the main i had the chicken which was lovely, my friends had to cod and the pork. we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The total cost of the bill was 22.50 euro!!! 7.50 each! Exceptional value for money, you wont get this value on the strip or the old town! Most nights we paid 20/30 each just for a main and wine. Its off the beaten track but easy to find. We went on a Saturday night and the atmosphere was excellent, Irish and English families also eating there. We did feel guilty though so we left a good tip. I would highly recommend this place and when i return to portugal we will all be going back! There is plenty of choice for mains and dessert. Go you won't be disappointed!
