Description: Welcome to the website of Restaurant A Ruina, located in Albufeira, in the charismatic Praia dos Pescadores. To meet us is like tasting the best in the Typical Algarvian Gastronomy. • Using the wall structure from the Tower wich defended Sant'Ana's Door, the restaurant A Ruina is open since 1971 - with Joao and Salome Lazaro: the art of good hospitality, always - associated with the development of Albufeira. With four interior rooms, being one of them an ancient well room, in the Summer you can enjoy the terrace and the esplanada at the beach.

My friends and I eat here on our last night, as we were recommended to. And it did not disappoint. You order you food from a chalk board, which obviously is in Portuguese, a little daunting for us at first (our very poor Portuguese) however the waiters were exceptional and helped us choose, and we were not disappointed. We sat right on the beach, drinking delicious Portuguese wine, eating the best fish we've ever had. While in some respects the dishes are basic (just carrots, new potatoes & broccoli as the side) but the simplicity, made the fish taste amazing. Our waiter was brilliant, very attentive & friendly. We loved this place.

We went to eat in ruina with 2 families and kids, setting and view is great overlooking the sea, try to get a table on the terras... We had to order the food at the seafood bar, original... All the fish is fresh... Prices are not cheap but i think its worth a visit... Get there early to have a good table...enjoy...

you will most likely need to book for the Terrace - its worth it for the view and atmosphere. The restaurant charges for the location, the food is good but overpriced
But its worth going for… probably the most commanding position in the Old Town
Don't be put off by the weighing of the fish - you can count on an average portion being 350 grammes and they charge by the kilo - hope this helps work out your bill

Best view in location and though on pricey end of market ,we felt great sat up high watching the fish and pork chops cook , a cold beer and lovely food ,my sons first taste of fresh BBQ sardines and lovely spot for it ,he thought it a great treat!
Spoil yourself and yes no menus just go upstairs and speak to man behind the fresh fish and meat counter he will help you decide ,also do a nice spaghetti Bol for younger children if not fish fans!
Top spot! Cheers

Superb sea bream fresh and beautifully cooked. Suggest you go before 9pm to get good table. No menu but that doesn't surprise as they cater for what they catch that day. Beautiful and service was friendly and personable would recommend
