Description: Welcome to the website of Restaurant A Ruina, located in Albufeira, in the charismatic Praia dos Pescadores. To meet us is like tasting the best in the Typical Algarvian Gastronomy. • Using the wall structure from the Tower wich defended Sant'Ana's Door, the restaurant A Ruina is open since 1971 - with Joao and Salome Lazaro: the art of good hospitality, always - associated with the development of Albufeira. With four interior rooms, being one of them an ancient well room, in the Summer you can enjoy the terrace and the esplanada at the beach.

Seven of us ate here and we are still talking about how amazing the steak was. By far the nicest we've all had, ever! We were seen off by the quirky, fun chef with hugs and kisses! You can't fault this place, pricey but worth it. We had to go back a second time!

Eat here recently, found the fish to be excellent but the sides were poor, boiled potatoes, carrot and broccoli. I found it to be expensive in comparison to other restaurants in Albuferia and not as good. You are paying for the location. Sept 2013

Very interesting restaurant. The lack of a table menu was a bit daunting but once you realised that you have to go to the counter to choose your food from a chalk board it all came together. We were a bit put out by the lack of explanation for extras such as French fries at the table and finished up with none but to compensate I must admit that the filleted Dover Sole and clams were cooked to perfection. " The best Sole I have tasted ". We sat on the top balcony overlooking the beach at dusk. A lovely location with great views.

We ate at the beach front restaurant twice while on holiday recently the food was excellent cooked fresh for us , the service was first class everything explained for us and the fish boned and served in front of us . There was no punting on the street for our business no prices so you knew you were in for something Special and what a treat. The price of the meal only reflected the quality of the food and service, definitely worth a visit and accommodating of children. Thank you

This restaurant doesn't have a menu or allow table booking, we picked it due to it's location and amazing views. It's very popular, overlooking the beach and sea. We were lucky to get a table on the top floor. It's very busy and seems a little daunting at first. We were given a drinks menu first and when we looked a bit perplexed the waiter expalined that you go to the counter and order. You can pick from a variety of fish or meat and the price is displayed per kilo. Not overly expensive. The fish we ordered was excellent - very fresh. there's liitle English spoken, but enough to enable you to order. My daughter's chicken was a bit overcooked though. Definately worth going as it's not like the rest of those in the old town quite unique.
