We went last minute to this hotel. Arrived early but room was still available. Overlooked the pool area, which was spotless with plenty of sunbeds at all times of day. Quite comical watching people put their towels down at 7am when there really is no need. Hotel also has a sunbed area away from the pool which made a nice change.
Breakfast was normal type of food, but all fresh and chef cooked eggs in front of you, changing gloves often which was good to see.
Reception staff helpful giving out bus timetables and free use of internet on the two computers in in lobby area.
Beach is a down hill walk, with then escalators down to actual beach.. a further downhill walk if you can't use escalators.
Good bus links to next towns. excellent ice creams can be had 50 metres to the left of hotel as well as sandwich shop and bakery.
A quiet location for a peaceful break.

We stayed in this hotel last week and it is lovely. The hotel is a modern 4star hotel and offers all
a four star should.

The rooms are spacious and modern with good balconies and bathrooms. The whole hotel is
spotlessly clean, well run and comfortable to be in. The staff are all very friendly and very helpful and those at front of house are very professional.

The spa area is lovely and the massage team are actually very good at what they do. The pool area is lovely and the pool is very clean.

food here is excellent and plenty of it with lots of local recipes alonside the usual fare for the non-adventurous.

the Vial Gale is about a 10 minute walk downhill to the old town and the escalators to the beach in Albufeira. the tourist train stop is just outside and this will take you down and back for E4.

Nearby are a range of shops, a shopping centre and lots of bars and restaurants. We recommend the Riviera Pasteleria next door for very calorific pastries, good coffee or just a drink while watching the world go by.

An excellent hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool room as they have lovely views out over the garden and to the sea in the distance. A...

After our original hotel came down with a virus, getting moved to this hotel was best thing that could have happened! Had a fantastic pool area, the all inclusive was a very good standard. And location was perfect, 5/10 walk from the beach, old town, and the strip!!

We have just returned from a 10-night stray at this Hotel for our wedding anniversary - fantastic! The hotel is spotless and the staff (especially the front desk and the chambermaids) were very friendly, helpful and their level of English was superb. Rooms were nice (beds extremely comfortable) & we had a great view over the pool (we were in 308). The hotel is well situated, being central to the strip & the old town and having one of the train stops just outside was a bonus. All in all we had a great stay & we will definitely be returning to the Vila Gale Cerro Alagoa.

We have just spent 5 nights in this hotel with our 1 year old daughter and cannot fault it. Ok the setting may not be the most picturesque but location is good for access to new and old town and on a main road so good bus links.
All areas of the hotel are spotlessly clean and welcoming, the outside pool area is lovely and quiet with a good size pool and a small pool for children. The children's pool is not deep enough to swim in but perfect for small children to splash and play in. Both pools were very cold but I m sure in the summer months will be perfect for cooling off, however there is a very good heated indoor pool which is free to use. Little kids club set in the garden is great and Miguel who runs the activities very friendly and brilliant with the children.
Rooms are of good size three of us managed in a double room fine, room was cleaned every day and towels changed at least twice within the 5 days. Breakfast was ok better than some 4 star hotels we have stayed in in Europe but nothing amazing. We didn't eat in the hotel in the evening but snacks and drinks from pool area were good and reasonably priced and there is plenty of placed to eat nearby.
All in all a great holiday, we will return to this hotel as they made us very welcome during our stay.

Room Tip: We had a double room with pool view and it was lovely and quiet.

The spa area is a bit dated however the spa staff are very friendly and professional and the treatments are brilliant.

The pool area is very clean and was quiet when we went.

I would return back there as it is an ideal location for the old town and the new town.

I have given it 3 rating as I don't think its luxurious enough for a 4 rating.

We stayed bed and breakfast and we also had the advantage of a kitchen area in our room which overlooked the pool area.

Childrens pool adequate and the kids club seemed to be ok, it was quiet when we went. The childrens reps only seem to be interested in Spanish or portugese children and not English. They seemed a bit miserable and bored. Whether this changes when there are a lot of children I don't know.

Room Tip: ask for a sea view room or pool view room otherwise you may get on the front and all you will see is...

Just back from a week at Cerro Alagoa with family. The hotel is lovely, modern, very clean with comfortable rooms. We all had rooms overlooking the pool which is spotlessly clean with lots of sunbeds and umbrellas. The hotel also has an indoor heated pool, spa and gym. The staff in the spa are lovely and the treatments are not expensive at all.
There is a great variety of good tasty food available in the restaurant at both breakfast and dinner times. You can easily walk to the Old Town from the hotel but if you prefer a taxi it will cost less than 4 euros. The Old Town is full of restaurants and bars so you'll not be stuck for choice.
We will all be back at this hotel - there is nothing to fault at all.
