I stayed here for a short break along with 14 other friends and would definitely recommend anyone to stay here. The hotel is clean throughout, from the pool to the rooms.

The serviced apartments are cleaned daily with fresh towels. The location is close to a main road but you would hardly notice. Very peaceful on the grounds. Breakfast contained a good selection for 7 euro

It is an ideal location to the centre; 10mins walk and you are in the heart of the old town. The steps down to the town may be a little steep for those with difficulty walking, but the steps are not narrow and there is a railing to hold.

Only couple of niggles were that the pool was exceptionally cold, we couldnt stay in it for long (but it is April!) and we had to pay to hire pool side towels (which we could have just taken from the room as they were the same)

Lovely stay

Room Tip: Ask for sea view. Sunsets are fantastic

We have just returned from a weeks holiday chilling at this hotel. The rooms are spacious and the air-con works a treat. The view we had from the fourth floor balcony was stunning with a veiw of the town and beach. The kitchen facilities were excellent with a dishwasher and washing machine. Make sure you remember to pack a bit of Washing powder and some dishwasher tablets (saves leaving a part used box behind). Only downside was no microwave but we managed breakfast and dinner okay and went down to the old town for Tea. Make sure you take a hairdryer as there was none in the bathroom. There is a Lidl which is in close vicinity (walking distance) to the hotel and a Taxi back with your shopping costs four euros. The pool area is clean and there is enough beds around the pool when not too busy. We did notice that a couple of days, most beds where taken before midday. The gym facilities are good with a mixture of exercise machines and lifting equipment. We didn't try the inside pool but the outside pool does feel cold when you have been sun-bathing but once your in it is okay. The bar staff at first seemed non engaging but once you are regular and get to know them they seemed to show more service to you. We didn't dine at the restaurant at the hotel so can not comment on the food. What spoilt the stay for me, and this probably happens at most big hotels with tiled floors was the noise from the rooms above and the hard beds. Furniture draggers I named them could start at 8am onwards from guests / maids and this echoed through our rooms. As some reviews bring down the hotel due to being located on a large hill and a number of steps down to the old town, I have not taken this into scoring as this is not a hill review but of the hotel facilities. Away from the hotel, the food in the old town was various and we always enjoyed what we had to eat. You can get pestered whilst walking past different restaurants but a friendly no would suffice. The beach is probably one of the most idyllic I have seen on many holidays that I have been on. There is a lift and some escalators to take you up to a good viewing areas for some photo shots. The old town was under going some major works on the pavements and around the centre square but access to the streets was fine. If I was to travel again to Albufeira, I would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Cerro Mar Garden, the hotel is beautifully clean and our large one bedroom apartment with stunning sea view excellent. The weather was great and we even managed a quick dip in the very cold pool! Reception staff were very good and our cleaner did a lovely job everyday! We had dinner in the restaurant great food at a good price and fantastic service.

The only negative points were the sorry state of the games room. Everything was marked up as being out of order apart from the pool table but if you wanted to be in a dungeon type basement with very little light to play a game then I guess for some it would not be a negative. The pool bar was also a let down it is not welcoming, lacked character and is indoors! Also had lots of ice cream fridges without the ice creams! They are only small niggles and would not put us off staying at this hotel again as overall it was great.

The apartments are above the town sqaure and the stairs are a little of-putting at first but really managable if you don't mind i.e. are not too far gone, when climbing back up the stairs. There are taxis which cost around 4 Euros but that's as expensive as it gets. As for the accomodation , IT IS GREAT. The lounge is spacious and we wer on the fifth floor with brilliant views of the sea and sunset at night. The Balcony is large enough to have a meal . Even though we were there at Christmas the weather was warm enough to sit outside.
The staff are very helpful and the facilities are wonderful after getting over paying for flip-flops. (5 Euros).
We didn't try the restaurant but it seemed good.

If you are thinking of a Xmas break go later before new year for the bestter night life as the locals say it becomes livier then.

Room Tip: room higher have better views .

Algarve is the southernmost part of Portugal, and consists of many beautiful towns heaving with culture, from the bustling town centres to the tranquil beaches; there are places to suit every mood! Furthermore, the weather never fails to impress, especially during the summer months. I have visited the great tourist town of Albufeira, whereby I was overwhelmed with a welcoming friendly atmosphere. The greatest feature of this fine town was the picturesque beach which combined the magnificent three: sun, sea and sand. The fine textured sand glimmered blissfully along the clean beach. The beach was arguably the most breathtaking beach in the world. The beach comes with a convenient escalator transports visitors from the joining point of the town with the beach front to the cliff, where even more idyllic panoramic sights of the town and sea merge together to form perfection.

It is impossible to run out of things to do in sunny Albufeira! Across the Algarve, there are activities ranging from simple sunbathing on the beach to parasailing. The marina boasts stunning views of the coastline, as well as fun activities such as Segway, bicycle and mini motorbike riding...there is simply no end to the enjoyment!

Whoever visits this great coastline region must eat out at the variety of restaurants available throughout the marina and town centres. Are you a fussy eater of food fanatic? Either way, all dining needs are catered for here thanks to the wide array of cuisines, prepared only using the finest ingredients. However, to feel the full Portuguese experience, you should most definitely try the native Peri-Peri chilli through any medium of sauces and dishes.

Overall, this town is the perfect destination for anyone, from young families to older couples where lifelong memories can be built. Each trip can be tailored to your needs through selection of the best hotel for you, and the best activities and restaurants to attend. With a commercial town centre budding with all your tourist needs, you will never lack anything upon visiting this Portuguese wonder.

Superb value for money, exceptionally clean hotel that is just a really pleasant place to be. Our two bedroom apartment was excellent with bags of space and everything we needed including washing machine, dishwasher and cbeebies! Two bed apartment with large lounge/kitchen/diner, two bathrooms and three balconies.
We stayed half board and both buffet breakfast and dinner were excellent - if you can't find something you like then you really have issues! All the staff are friendly, helpful and cheerful. The only reason we have not scored the hotel as a 10 is that the outdoor pool was icy cold, although we did manage to get in it a few times and there is a nice warm indoor pool as well. Nice gardens and pool area.
The walk down 'the steps' to the old town is really not as bad as some people make out. It is quite steep but it's literally a five minute walk down, bit longer back up and our four year could climb it with ease. Therefore it's very handy for both town and beach. (Different story with a pushchair though I imagine.) Also a nice stroll to Lidl supermarket for cheap food for lunch etc - way cheaper than on site shop.
One note is that our apartment was on the road end of the hotel and the bin lorry did come every night to empty the wheelie bins at about midnight for some reason!
We would not hesitate to go back or recommend the Cerro Mar Garden to anyone else. Brilliant holiday.

Room Tip: Go for highest floor possible for better view.

We had a great stay at Cerro Mar. On the plus side, the hotel has many facilities like restaurant, gym, outdoor and indoor swimming pool, bowling, massages etc. The apartments were great - we had a two-bedroom apartment, which was really big, had a nice terrace, two bathrooms, a living room and a well equipped kitchen.

The hotel is situated on a little hill just above the city, with stairs leading down to the city on a 5 minute walk. This was the only downside for us, as we travelled with a little baby, and with the stroller we had to find a road without stairs, which made the trip down to the city/beach a 15 minute walk.

A big drawback was the really hard mattresses! Woke up the first morning with pain in the entire body! Improved the situation a bit by putting thick blankets under the sheets, but the beds were still not comfortable..

As mentioned, the kitchen was well equipped, but I would suggest to bring some towels/cloths and soap for the dishwasher.

Except for the beds, this was a great place to stay in central Albufeira!
