“Good food, pretty setting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2013

We've eaten here several times and have always enjoyed our meals. Clams Bulhao Pato, the local, much loved dish, was great, as was the plate of crisp, salty deep fried anchovies, and the monkfish with clams. And the Crema Catalana was fine to share. Good wine list and service. A lovely spot right on the Gale end of the very long Praia do Salgados, and they are very family-friendly at lunch or supper. The funky looking bar they run just beneath the restaurant is also ideal for an evening drink.

“Beautiful setting for a lovely meal!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2013

We'd had this place recommended, so the stakes were high! We turned up without booking and were told we would have a wait. I would recommend booking in advance! However, there is a lovely seating area with excellent service over-looking the beach, which was perfect for pre-dinner drinks. The atmosphere as the sun goes down is wonderful. Paper lanterns adorn the rocks and make for a romantic setting. Once sat at the table the service and food was also as we might have expected, but didn't quite make the grade of excellent for me. I had sea bass and the portion was on the small side. The later the evening got the breeze got up so for some the coolness of the open seating became a bit uncomfortable, but we did eat late, so might have been expected. If I went again I'd reserve for around 7.30pm with a view overlooking the sea. I would certainly recommend it as one place to eat in the area.

“Perfect setting, but got ripped off on the weight of the fish”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013

Lovely beach setting, sun downer, lounge area, good food, but the 0.46 kilo sea bass ended on the bill with 0.75 kilo! Picked the smaller of the two, but the waiter did not want to know. Had 0.6 kilo the next day, different place, and became even clearer, that we did not have 0.75 kilo of fish! Shame.

“A fantastic experience as always”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2013 via mobile

Having eaten here on many occasions, normally small plates that we always love, we ate from the full menu with my family.
From the food to the drinks the whole night was beautiful.
The staff were also a great party of the evening, offering assistance to choice and making us feel special, will definitely be back on many more occasions.
The atmosphere from the adjoining beach bar along with their staff was a perfect end to the evening, well into the early hours. We will definitely be returning here also.
Many thanks guys, and girls.

“Fabulous fish”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2013 via mobile

Ate at this restaurant twice on our holiday. The squid and the fish was beyond amazing. We eat out a lot and were blown away by the freshness. The staff were lovely, and made a fuss of the children. The view is amazing. It's not cheap, but it's the age old story of 'you get what you pay for'. I would eat here again, and recommend it to any friends who were visiting.
