My friend and I went to this restaurant - it was the only one we could find that was opened after 3pm... And we didnt disappoint - food was good, service was very friendly and warm.

This lovely little wine bar is located just behind the main square in Evora. We enjoyed one of the large outdoor tables in the laneway.

We were greated enthusiastically and when we asked about the wine list the waiter did not hesitate to bring out a range for us to try.

There is an extensive menu for both snacking and larger dishes with one vegetarian main. It was great to be able to try some typical Portuguese food in small portions including eggs and thistle (delicious) as well as small portions of cod fish in a light tasty batter.

The service was attentive and friendly. I only wish we'd had time to go back for more!

We had a lovely meal here last night. We didn't have tapas but enjoyed spaghetti bolognese and the vegetable pasta dish. Both were very nice. We then had cheesecake and chocolate cake for dessert, also very nice, plus a soft drink and a beer. This totalled 27.90 Euros. Both staff members were friendly and helpful and we would recommend a meal here.

This tapas restaurant and wine bar opened only a few months ago in the old city of Evora, a half block off the Rue da 5 de Octubre. Having been in Portugal a few days, my mother and I had already tired of the heavy, cream-based regional dishes. We don't eat meat, so it was a delight to find a menu with a variety of tasty and interesting vegetarian-friendly options. We ordered the tapas-sized roasted red peppers in a wonderful dressing, the Spanish potato tart, and the fried codfish, which was crunchy and flavorful. Although we drank only water with thoughtfully-provided lemon slices, the restaurant offered an extensive wine selection. The ambiance was calming, light, airy, and modern, with mellow background music and a kind, attentive waitstaff. I live in New York City, and of all the restaurants I ate at during my trip around Portugal, this is the one that seemed like it would stand the best chance of introducing Portuguese cuisine to an NYC audience. Piparoza is moderately-priced and comfortable, the food is just right for people like us who prefer a lighter diet, and overall this was one of the best meals of our Portugal trip.

This is an unique place.
We went there after having visited two star-ranked Michelin restaurants in Lisbon and Cascais, and Piparozza was by far the greatest stop in our trip to Portugal.
The owner (Pedro) is one of those "crazy" innovative guys that push the market to another level of quality.
He offers any of the fantastic wines he sells (no matter how expensive) BY THE GLASS.
We tasted Pera Marca, Mouchão, Quinta do Crasto Vinhas Velhas, Redoma, Quinta do Mouro Golden Label and other great portuguese wines by the glass.
The cuisine is not sophisticated but is pretty correct and adequate to escort the wines.
I will certainly be there as many times as I can.
Not to be missed by those who are visiting Évora.
